Paint Matched Fender Trim

Hello,

I see a lot of BRZs on the form with the chrome fender trim paint matched. How are you all getting that done. Would like to have it done on my WRB. I tried searching but to no avail. Thanks!

I think what you what you have is the upgraded chrome trim accessory which is about $80.

Take a heat gun to your chrome fender trim, just enough to work the adhesive underneath it and pull the chrome piece off... It'll be WRB underneath the chrome trim after you remove it.

Yup, the gas cap and chrome fender trim can be removed. OEM paint color will be under each of them

Just a note....the chrome trim upgrade isn't just an overlay....it's actually a replacement piece for the body colour piece that used to be there....so if you remove the chrome, you'll need to find the body colour piece to replace it....

On my BRZ the area that the chrome covers is part of the rest of fender trim. Are you saying the entire fender trim piece is a different part on the chromed cars?

Um I believe the chrome part is just a overlay. Just heat it up a little and pull it off and the factory color is underneath.

oh shit..you're right...for some reason, when I first read the installation instructions on the page here (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6266) i thought it was a replacement piece!!
