BRZ in SoCal Availability?

My girlfriend is looking for a new car. Are BRZs still as hard to get as they were back in 2012? Would many be available if I just do a walk-in at a dealership? I'm planning to look around (LA) Southern California, Whittier area. I see that the Puente Hills Subaru dealer got black listed for some reason which kinda sucks cuz I'm pretty close to that one.

Anyone got any head's ups on availability and what kind of pricing I should be expecting now that it's almost into 2014? Can I walk out under MSRP or Invoice easily?

You will bf lucky to find any cars here in so cal even AT MSRP, but what that means is that you can find inventory on the lot, granted if you're willing to pay the mark up. If you want a good price, you're better off looking out of state.

What color/trans are you looking for? I have some FR-S on the lot and a few more coming in over the next 3 weeks.

There are so many more FRS out there than BRZ...the problem is that Scion has their pure price crap.

Have you been looking for BRZ's on autotrader.com or cars.com?

I looked at BRZs a few weeks ago, several dealers are willing to sell at MSRP if it they have inventory. Quite a few of those dealers were charging $3k mark up only a few months ago *COUGH* Glendale *COUGH* and even $6k before *COUGH* GLENDALE *COUGH*

I used Truecar and got a few MSRP offers on BRZs, one dealer even offered $500 off a Limited. I ended up going with an FRS (I bought about 2 weeks ago) , which I also got on a slight discount.

I've only had mine for about 2 months. Most of the dealers I was in touch with did not do pre-orders so it was a first come first serve deal. For me, I just checked dealers' websites daily and even contacted them directly showing my interest.

The one dealership that I would recommend is Subaru Carlsbad. Get a hold of Tracey and let her know you're interested and let her know what kind of model/trim you're looking for. She will call you as soon as she finds out a car is on its way. Also, please let her know that Rey referred you. They also don't markup the vehicles.

My local dealer Sierra Subaru (where I got mine) had 2 in stock a few weeks ago, pretty sure those are gone now but they may get some more in. They don't do mark-ups, first come first serve.
Also, research on cars.com, the BRZ I bought showed up on cars.com even before the inventory on the dealer's website

The brz's definitely are out there, I am in the market for an frs/brz however after visiting 2 dealers in socal and seeing their $5k dealer markup and sales reps refusing to negotiate ive decided to look for an frs.
