His prices are very very fair. So fair, in fact, that it's almost a waste of money to go anywhere else. And the quality of work is as good as you'll get anywhere. He tends to reference the suggested hourly commitment from the shop manual install cehmatics (or his own brain from past installs), then offers a bargain of a deal.

Best to contact him through the means listed here:

agree his prices are very fair, esp for routine stuff. he knows we know how long it should take for a mechanic to do stuff and lets customers chill and watch; there is full transparency, so it's not like he will bill 2 hours for a 40 min task. short version: Joey equals good prices.

This is 100% the truth. Some people come just for the social scene because its such a cool place to be. Best to set up an appointment for actual car work though.

Yo eklipz, I set up an appointment to get an exhaust installed next week. Just wanted to give you a heads up I mentioned you referred me.

Joey responded by text very quickly. Really courteous guy also.

Hey C you gonna be there tonight? I am thinking of stopping by to check out Joey's shop and maybe talk about doing some maintenance/checkups on my MR2. Can you PM me the address?

Just got back from Joey's shop tonight. Joey and his crew are fantastic. I couldn't believe how quickly they changed the oil on my MR2, and how little they charged me for it. Paid more for my overpriced K&N oil filter at Pep Boys than I paid to Joey. They put my car up on the lift and I was able to get under it and see some of the other issues that I will have to get fixed soon. Need a new driver side rear axle, and missing a bolt on one of my front Konis. But I will definitely come back to Joey to save some money on the work needing to be done!

Then next up was @clzzical's BRZ. He came in to put on his Greddy exhaust. With a team of 3 guys on it, they had his old exhaust off and new exhaust on in even less time than it took for my oil change. I'll let clzzical talk about how he likes his new exhaust.

up goes the BRZ... (stock exhaust with JDM tips installed)

... and the Greddy is on!

I have my own garage and a fair amount of tools, but I'm getting lazy these days. I will definitely let Joey take care of a few things on my cars when I don't want to get my hands dirty or can't handle it myself.

Quite a few nice cars stopped by just while we were there... an NSX, a few S2000s, a WRX/STI.
