Yea, I don't think it was Vortech's numbers either. I believe it was more in line with Perrin saying they made 247 WHP wat 6 psi, and kits sold making 225-230 whp at 6 psi and not making much more at 9-10 psi.

I also agree with your last statement, the new compressor is doing nice numbers.

I believe it was this:

http://blog.perrinperformance.com/vo...he-perrin-brz/

That was posted Nov of last year and nobody was able to replicate that peak power. And I also remember some back and forth about the compressor being maxed out at 5-6psi and Vortech insisting that wasn't the case. I suppose we now know how that is eh?

Sorry, just stirring the pot a little. The new Vortech compressor looks to be much more in line with original expectations. And I hope Vortech will look at this market and motor with much more relaxed view in terms of making power. Give us the 500hp compressor. :-D

Apart from a few posted dyno sheets, I am curious to know what number is being referred to as well. Since we didn't have production numbers to report, there weren't any numbers to be claimed. I think I posted dyno numbers from Gem's car when it was here, but that was with the H67BC and his other mods. He got the upgrade after that.

We have been nothing but good and forthcoming with this community...some would say generous, so I don't appreciate it when someone tries to make it look like we had to backpedal in order to save face. The truth is nowhere close to that.

This is really exciting. I was hoping to see these kinds of numbers from a SC. I personally like the true constant power of a SC. A SC makes the engine feel bigger they just where not putting the power down I was looking for.

Now it looks like they are which is great to see. I think the E85 is fine. Do people really not have E85 stations around? I mean they seem pretty common. I guess it would be a concern if this is your only car but hopefully if you are doing these kinds of mods its not.

This is my first post just lurking and I don't yet own a BRZ or FR-S yet. I am getting into the market for a track car and this car is currently at the top of my list.

I just want to also say thanks for the great posts and fantastic information here. It's excellent.

E85 station are much more common in high population areas, and in the corn belt. Everywhere else they're as rare as hens teeth.

It is not widely distributed yet. I have 2 stations each 20 miles away from my house. If I wanted to visit family I would not be able to as some are 150 miles away without any E85 near them. The 2 race tracks I frequent do not have E85 near them or anywhere along the way there. It is just not convenient yet.

That makes sense, there is tons of E85 around me and its damn cheap.

It feels like you still would not be far off running 93. I think I covered this whole post here I did not notice but did we get numbers on 93 yet?

Actually in southern Arizona they are all over the place, pretty much accessible on a day basis from phoenix to the boarder. Lucky us. There are 2 in the town im from, less than 50k population. 100 Octane is pretty easy to get as well.

Once I moved to FI, I'll probably just use it exclusively.

Is there anything stopping you from running E85 on a stock 86?

93 doesn't anywhere near the potential of e85 for any forced induction system. You're talking about a 100whp difference.

Really? I've heard you can normally rate E85 as about 95-96 octane? Is it higher than that? I might be getting bad info.

I also racing fuel 110 octane around me but i'll pretend it does not exist because its like $9 a gallon!
