Personally I'd like to see the limits of a Vortech SC kit on the track, with no other supporting mods to it. For the car, perhaps pads/fluid, street tires, and suspension. Curious whether the kit will hold up and what kind of heat problems you'd run into in a 30 minute session, especially the way you drive (no offense!).

@CSG Mike: you know how it is man, I'm a perfectionist, it HAS to be just so...prefer to deal with heat concerns now rather than later....you'll be the first to know I assure you

Here in CA a track car with just that blower will be overheated in 3 laps or so. Stock engined cars are getting too hot as it is.

...was hoping for a bit more durability than that.

Already have driven one; it was already getting hot during the first hot lap. Stock radiator, with oil cooler, non-SL version.

Would not recommend without:

- Vented hood of some sort
- Aftermarket Radiator
- Radiator shrouding
- Oil cooler

I'll try it again if someone offers to let me drive their car.

When the test mule is ready, I'll arrange for a test venue.

Have there been any oil temp readings w/out oil cooler vs. oil temp reading w/ oil cooler? do the temps on track really necessitate an oil cooler (280+)?

From what I've seen it's only been on dynos that people saw oil temps go high enough to sacrifice some HP, but theres a whole lot more airflow at speed on track. I haven't seen anyone say they NEEDED an oil cooler after a day on track.

An set of options to test for a bunch of folks looking at not dropping a ton of cash on suspension...

- stock springs + OEM shock vs:
- RCE Yellow Comps + Koni
- Swift Sport BRZ Springs + Koni
- STI Pink + OEM

I wonder if the oil cooler placement is contributing to the heat problem. IIRC the AZ car mentioned above no longer had the oil cooler in front of the radiator and intercooler.
