I don't really care one way or another what someone names their car, but the thing that's always kind of bugged me is not just all cars are female, but any vehicle is female from what I've seen. Is there any type of vehicle that has ever been designated as male?

Butterface

That's got the right suspension system at least.
The H2 and H3 should be ashamed.

People have been personifying inanimate objects since the dawn of man most likely.

But I'd be inclined to agree with your girl, but it depends on the individual. To me and all the men I know machines and things you care about (car, computer, boat etc etc) are usually girls or mythical beings. My SVT is named Francesca

On the flip side my friend names all her cars with guy names.

Personalizing = 1 thing, naming it is another.

I guess I never looked into naming cars any further than my camry as it sounded silly when I tried. I just left it as "my _insert_car_name_here"

My 95 Grand Caravan came with original plates FYL 728.
So it was alway "Phil", in my mind, but I never said it out loud...
Then I had to renew for different plates eventually and that stopped.

i think cars need a cool nick name or something. i had an EVO X MR that was black with glitter. forget what the called the paint..its alot like what my raven has. i named it black sunshine after the white zombie song even though it referenced a mustang.

lol yeah..

I creatively come up with ways to avoid work. That counts for something, right?

Unfortunately, that also means I'm currently working.. after 5 pints.. ugh.

I don't know a single car that didn't already have a name or designation. To name it any different is like calling your friend, oh let's say "Dave" as his birth name, by the name "George".

My car has a name, it's FR-S.

My cars are named after tragic female leads. Beatrice, Gretchen, etc.
