In my very honest opinion, the stock cast brakes shouldnt be painted. Theyre ugly, and painting them a bright color will only draw your eye to their ugliness quicker.

Now, a set of Alcons/Brembos/AP/etc are a different story.

ok, so ill look into getting those rather than painting. thanks for the advice. i dont plan on doing more than a cpl mods/addons bc i really like the stock look, and im totally a novice. and i dont know what "set of Alcons/Brembos/AP/etc " means but ill google them.

Alcon/Brembo/AP are brands of big brake kits. They're expensive though (like $2k per axle).

Don't take my word as gospel though. If you want to paint your calipers, have at it. Just make sure you tape off the pads (preferably remove them entirely) so there isnt any nasty over spray.

Water spots, yes. Surface scratch, from certain angles if I'm looking hard enough. I've got one on the rear bumper that will polish out. I'm still pissed its even there though.

As far as dirt goes, the car could be a little dusty and still look good. But there is a tipping point (usually driving around after a heavy downpour or two weeks worth of driving in spring) where the paint starts to look shallow (nonmetallic-y). But once you wash it up, this color comes alive again.
