It was definitely helped by a grass fire, but that doesn't explain why the car wouldn't start.

If he lost control, spun out and stalled it, I would assume the car went into dummy mode thinking it was in an accident.

It happens to me sometimes when I stall my Impreza playing in the snow aggressively.

hot oils, hot exhaust, dry grass i believe were the culprits to the fire, i'm sure he figured that out too, in the video the car seemly tries to move forward so i think he was trying to push it when he saw the smoke from under the car.

Why the car wouldn't start after he had "parked" it, now that is something i'm not entirely sure would be related to the fire, but it begs the question.

If i remember correctly you have to unplug the battery when dummy mode comes on to reset the ECU? I think that usually solves the issue but I could be wrong.

Miine did something similar to this testing out the skid pad a while back. I only spun once but didn't kill the engine. When I drove back to my parking spot I shut it off and everything seemed normal.

I tried to restart it and it didn't start for 5 hours! Just turned over and NOTHING almost like it was starved for fuel. It made for a bit of embarrassment since my car had to be towed from the autocross event and taken to the dealership but once it got there, started just fine.

BTW, resetting the ECU did nothing and no CELs.

I'm thinking that this is related but I can't seem to find anything conclusive in the shop manual for the car. I've looked everywhere.

I've had trouble starting my car for no reason at all, never thought about something like this happening because of it though.

Most likely that dry grass came in contact with the hot exhaust and well a fire ignited. I saw a brand new track prepped z06 burn down to the ground at the track once because of this, it lost control spun out into a high dry grass and it ignited almost instantly no apparent fuel leaks. Sadly that corvette did not have a tow hook and could not be pulled to safety so it was completely ruined.

I had one of the same size before, pulled over to try and help a guy in the freeway to put out a fire in his engine. Those do not do jack-shit, two minutes or less is all you have once you squeeze the trigger. You will need at least a three liter size extunguisher.
