I think most of the E0 fuel on islands are for boats and lawn equipment ala octane 87. I've had no problems with it if you're worried about a drop in driveability. I have better gas mileage with the slow burning fuel.

Yeah, only E0 92 octane is in Waianae that I know of.

I'm still chirp free and broke 4k today, so - fingers remain crossed!

Yep, no problems. Intake/Ex has no effect on your fuel pump. No worries!

Did you buy your car here or in Florida? If you bought it in Florida and shipped it here, then I'm not sure how "Toyota vs Servco" thing works for warranty.

I got mine here at servco by trippler I guess I'm going to go buy and see what they say my intake and exhaust drown it out but I still want to get it fixed

I've tried 89 E0 at Waipio for 5 full tanks and went back to E10 premium this week.

I've notice the car sounds louder on E10 than E0, so I am going back to filling up on E0. Unfortunately the manual states to use fuel above 91 grade. Car does seem slower, but at least the noise is softer and tolerable.

Tuning the car to account for the pump gas difference can help with the bog. You can come try out my car..the change in octane is pretty much unnoticeable.

Is there anyone who got the pump replaced and the chirp returned?
It seems like the chirp returning is common on the mainland, but I've never heard of it in Hawaii.

I got mine fixed and my car chirps once in a blue moon. Not nearly as often as it did before.

It seems like the pump was updated some time in February. LINK
Subaru released a revised TSB on 5/8/2013 with the same part numbers but different description about the plunger design on the first page. TSB
The new part is supposed to have a green dot next to the part number on the box.

Re-bumping this just for more info gathering purposes.

The Aloha station in Waianae idiotically overhauled all their pumps and dumped the 92 E0 in favor of...Diesel, which apparently boggled all their customers AND staff who feel they'll lose a fair chunk of business now.

That being said, it means I have to swap to Ethanol fuel so we'll see if the chirp starts on my car soon too. It's been chirp free to 8k atm but the rep at Servco Leeward said he could hear it VERY faintly on my car when I brought it in for service so might just be a matter of time anyway.

Has anyone gotten the new pumps put in and had 0 issues regardless of Ethanol content?

None of the pumps completely fix the chirps. The newer ones people say seem quieter, but as far as I know there is no true fix yet.
