The electric steering almost ruins the car, there has to be an aftermarket solution that gives road lets you feel the road?

The word premium sounds like a vehicle should have some of the upper echelon amenities. *shrug*

Are you serious?
The steering is sublime compared to everything else on the road, especially at this price level.

You drive a Toyota Yaris and you think an 86 lacks road feel? I'm lost for words.

I agree. "Premium" v "Limited"....Worst. Branding. Ever.

Both Premium and Limited would denote a higher trim level. The top of the line JDM BRZ designation is Type S.

Most worldwide motor enthusiast and writers LOVE the new steering!

My Acura RSX has great steering and suspension and I absolutely prefer the FRS over it. Ive been driving a 13yo MB CLK320 around these last few days and im SO HAPPY im back in my 86! Its like a prosthetic.

Sorry mate, you're smoking the wrong stuff

The steering is sublime.
Best I've ever come across

Or, there might be something not quite right with your 86 (if you have one?)

I thought the same before I drove it, I can feel it but it's just as good as any hydraulic system I've ever driven.

I believe there are DIY's to disable the electric assist so you have an entirely manual rack, if that doesn't give you more feel then your next option is to install an entirely new steering system.

*Edit I would have preferred hydraulic as well but electric is more efficient and like I said earlier, just as good as ANY hydraulic system I've come across.

Mitsubishi Evolution IX is the best steering I have come across, the BRZ is a close second.

Wait... So does the BRZ premium not have heated mirrors, but the FRS and BRZ Limited have heated mirrors? Because I have heated mirrors on my FRS.

It may be different between Canada and the US.

The Yaris steering is must worse, but this FR-S steering is no where near as in touch with the road as an E30 BMW or even a modern Miata.

I'm not the only one to point this out see:

Why this mess of lines.. none of which continue through to the door? It's like the designers went out of their way to break the flow.

I swapped from my BRZ to FR-S side vents so at least it draws the eye less. But still you can look at this spot and see how they didn't quite pull off a masterpiece.
I noticed that too the moment I saw the pre-production model cruising around.

Another part that really had me scratching my head was the door line not lining up with the driver's window and rear quarter window. I felt like they rushed that part during the clay design and were like, "fugg it, let just put this line here to piss off the consumer... fixed".

I guess I'm just used to the MKIV
