If parking; he would also be parking on the wrong side of the road in Japan...
So bad parking and parked in the wrong direction... NICE car though! Makes me wish I kept mine...

Priceless. On a serious note, across the street from my garage, there is a green car under a tarp that appears to be an AE-86. I will have to take a closer look next time I'm there, but it is does not appear to be in the best condition. |

There is no car made by any manufacturer in the 80's that is as good as this car. I have a close friend who has a 355 Challenge Ferrari. It was built in the mid 90's (introduced in 95) and is a race ready car meant to allow customers to take it directly into the Ferrari Challenge series. My BRZ exhaust note actually sounds better than this car and while I am unafraid to push this car to the limit on any surface or any curve on the street, the owner of this car is scared to push this car at all due to the costs involved for any repair. He is one of my best friends and races in Vintage Cars about five times a year. I have rode with him and also driven it, and the funny thing is that I would rather have my BRZ with less power but equal handling than his car, because just like him I realize that the cost of repairs or any parts at all are ridiculous. Just the cost of replacing one piston and the valves cost him almost ten thousand dollars. I could have bought a used Ferrari 308 or 348 for about the same price I paid for my new BRZ, but the cost of maintenance and repair make it an albatross around the neck of anyone who owns one and wants to drive it on a regular basis. We (all Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 (and Scion owners) should be thankful that a car like this is available at such an affordable price with parts and service that don't push us into the stratosphere.........
I feel like a lucky son of a bitch to have this car at this price. A Porsche Cayman starts at $73,000 without any options and it is not worth 2 and half times the base price of this car. In fact many reviewers think that it is just as good a handling car. Ed Wallace (nationally syndicated automobile writer in newspapers) said it was the best handling car available under $100,000. dollars. It is just his opinion but he is a very respected auto industry critic and writer. |
