Plus bring back the red stitching on the center console and the leather in the doors and the better looking seats. Just saying...

Hey for a stripped down road racer the scion is good. I got to admit that but the interior of the BRZ and 86 is worlds better than the frs.

When they said low spec...I did not know it meant low spec...but hey maybe the price will be good. I will keep an open mind. But I am gonna still complain. Why come we can't get the best at least as an option?

What they showed was Toyota 86 equivalent low-spec. What we saw in tokoyo was equivalent high-spec.

Scion can still make it right...but if not...BRZ will roll.

Sure... if you like to pay interest on your ballz heater and uber awesome headunit....

I remember when i bought my scion ( OMG YESSSS I HAVE A SCION, NOW IT MAKES SENSE!) the lady who was selling the car to me told me not to get extra stuff. Basically I'm just raping myself if i do that. Buy the lowspec car without anything and then come back and get all the extra stuff and i dont have to pay interest on a $20.000 car (vs the $18k)

Thats too much. I love the AUTO windows (uhm... tell me 1 subaru that comes with both window full auto up and down)

But it would be really awesome if i could get the car without headunit and nice wheels. Since i already have wheels and the headunit. It would be awesome to save $500 this way.

I was a bit extreme about the manual window part. Don't think my gf would love that idea lol

Lol! The frs is almost that stripped...the head unit is probabły only worth $50. I would rather their be a radio delete option. Just a about every car has ac and power windows and locks.

That's the thing, you'd think they'd have a base one and one "with options" (besides the auto I mean). Or at least on their website show one with some other options. I bet none of this back and forth would have happened if they had done that.

Some of us actually want to buy the car soon and I'd going Scion if I *knew* I could get what I wanted.. but I don't.. so I can't go put a deposit down. So instead I either have to just do so at Subaru, or do so at both and take back one of the deposits later. Or I can wait until January and *hope* that they'll actually release real information, specs, etc at that time unlike what they've done at TMS which was really just letting us get videos and close up pics of the JDM model cars... nice, but that's not specs, options, pricing, etc.

Your cool. The manual windows in my 1990 Miata still work like a champ!

Whatever you modify you lose the warranty on that part. Thats it.

uhm... other people are whining about HIDS when you can get one for $50?!?! I didn't know you guys need HID and dual zone ac and ballz heater in a enthusiast driver's car....

JUST LETTING EVERYONE KNOW ( since most of you have no clue about this brand) that SCION will roll out a "Release Series" edition (in the first year after the model finally comes out) that will have extra stuff for more money. e.g.: Scion tC RS7 came out with different color, TRD lip kit, push start button ( keyless entry) and some other minor things.

just sayin' before most of you comes back crying that this is BS... you already bought a car and now this ones rolls out
CSOCSO, I know that and was pointing it out to the gentleman griping about Mazda saying he'd void his warranty if changed his headlights to the non-US Mazda projectors.

Otherwise, if you intended to further prove my point, then I apologize for being defensive.

I am talking about what is missing from the frs
Dual zone ac (toggle switch controls look better)
Red stitching throughout the interior
Alcantra seats
Push button start/proximity entry
Hids
Led Accents
Fog lights

All this will cost thousands aftermarket if at all possible to even get it.

Factory scion head units are crappy compared to the aftermarket.

You can't beat Aftermarket in the $-to-performance category.
Yet again; if your supercharger go south and taking the engine with itself it would be under warranty and scion / toyota would fix your car.
Good luck to do the same thing with dezod, turbonetics.. etc etc etc.:happy0180:

Some people like to play it safe and just get factory accessories and keep the warranty

Exactly.

Nobody is going to be banned here for being a newbie or expressing their opinion (as long as their posts don't become trolling - i.e. keep repeating the same negative comments over and over with an obvious agenda).

A warning though to anyone who posts in that matter (nothing but negativity). You may be subject to a ban. I encourage members to report this type of troll-like behavior using the report post button.

These are BAD things in a bare bones sports car. Interiors have come a long way since the 90's golden age of Japanese sports cars, at least for the cheap cars. Ever been in a 240SX? The interior is crap, especially in S14's.
This is almost 2012...and this model is a 2013. We want an interior better than a 2012 $15 Hyundai accent! We want at least what the rest of the world can get in the Toyota 86.

But hey low spec is low spec. I get it.
