Damn it. Mis-judged where a curb was in the parking garage and scratched the rear drivers side wheel. I know its just the wheel but it still pisses me off. I've only had the car for a little over a week and 300 miles so I thought it would be longer before something happened.

Ouch. Any of you that did bushings over the weekend notice a difference and if so could someone give me an idea of what said difference is like?

Found this whilst trolling craigslist for toys:

I think most people checking this thread probably have theirs, but just in case someone is looking.

Me too.. i've been waiting to hear from Mac.. I wonder if he notices any difference.. if it was worth the money.. Both of the trans bushings are pretty cheap to buy and relatively easy to install.. so I'd be happy to do them if they actually make a noticable improvement in shifter feel. (not that I'm complaining about the stock feel).

You can actually feel a huge difference. When you pull your shifter all the way to one side or the other (in neutral) you can really feel the trans start moving pretty violently. Trans is moving like this all the time due to the oem bushing design. Built for comfort and low cabin vibrations. However, the two different bushings are just two fixes for the same problem. The whiteline, perrin, or cusco trans bushings hold the transmission in place via the transmission mount. The perrin rear shift bushing, which is what Mac had installed, holds the shifter support in place. The shifter support is rigidly mounted to the trans so they essentially do the same thing from different locations.

So you get a more rigid, supported feel in the shifter and more vibration through the chassis?

In theory, yes. But you do not feel any added vibration from doing the trans bushing alone because the motor mounts are still pretty soft and do most of the drivetrain damping anyways.

There are some products that can help minimize the look of the scratch, some polishes and scrubs. Also there are local tire repair places that can fix it if its only a minor scratch and some can even fix a much deeper scratch. Check into it. My car has a scratched rim too and I used some polish on the wheel and it is BARELY noticeable now, a lot of times wet polish takes the major visual problem out.

That's odd. It's not showing the page when you are signed out of FB. You need to be signed in and then it directs to the album.

Was it the tire or the rim?

I parked too close to a curb one day and scratched the tire. Thankfully, the stock tire has a lip that extends slightly outward than the rim maybe to prevent rim damage.

That saved my day.

Yah, I looked at it again tonight and it's not as noticeable as i thought. I'll look into getting it repaired but in the end, it's not a huge deal. I was planning on getting new wheels eventually. Now i've just moved that timeline up a bit.
