I would definitely buy if it was 25.5 K for just alittle bit more alitte bit more being well if you get nice things for 25.5 then Im running to a Subaru dealer. Anything over and I want to consider a Nissan Z, the back seats to the BRZ aren't that functional anyways from what is seen and heard and confirmed.

There was a 2002 STi ... There were impreza wrx STi's in the 90's. Dont assume because the US got an STi 2 years after their introduction to the WRX that we have to wait 2 years for a BRZ STi (if its even coming)

This might be my Subaru bias coming in, but I agree. I would go further to say that, given two, equally skilled drivers, the WRX would win on certain tracks.

Actually, I think the WRX is all around faster car. The most obvious will be in a straight line, but the more traction from AWD and higher power will help it through a corner too. I like the BRZ a lot but I doubt it is faster than a WRX on the tracks.

For autocross the WRX would have zero chance.

Gearing and weight of the BRZ would most likely make it faster on most track. My ~200hp car is faster than WRXs on Sebring and it's FWD (and a little lighter than the FR-S/BRZ) but I haven't driven them both so drivers varied.

I have driven a WRX back to back with a NB Miata on an autocross course with ~50 second run times. The WRX was about close to 3 seconds slower.

Off road WRX would > BRZ it's a freaking rally car lol just putting that out there. please don't drive your BRZ off road....that and I feel alot safer in a WRX in the snowy conditions then the FF cars I owned, or my Brother's SLK I thought I was gonna die in that Merc.

Guys, we have no clue whats faster or where between the WRX and BRZ. We can make guesses but thats about it.
My guess is these 2 cars will be close in performance, much closer then WRX owners will like. In some situations and senarios the awd and weight of the WRX will make it slower then the BRZ. The WRX is definately faster from a dead stop I'm sure, but after you are rolling the advantage equals out some. The wrx isnt really known for its handleing, it really power pushes through turns alot. Time will tell tho.

Went to Subaru dealer to check status of our '12 Impreza order. Spoke with the sales manager about the BRZ as he was in Chicago when it was shown. He said I would be surprised and happy with the pricing as it will be "fairly cheap" in his own words. I asked if it would be under WRX pricing and he said yes.

He is just a sales guy so I doubt he has the latet inside info. But there is at least some hope the BRZ will have a low base price.

I hope you know that power is useless in a turn. Unless you are referring to corner exit acceleration.

Remember from a while ago that the Subaru's VP or someone up high did an article and we were all speculating about 19K( Yeah I know that's not Possible) But that tranzformer put here just reminded me of that.

I think he was saying that it understeers a lot, and then people try to power through it making the situation worse.
