Tint Shop

I know there's a thread with a guy doing tints for club members but unfortunately I can't get my schedule to agree with the day he installs, so I'm looking for recommendations for a good tint shop around Silver Spring/DC area.

I looked up Google and Yelp and found CalTint near Tysons Corner but the price is higher than most. Just looking for options, thanks.

A member mentioned Tint FX in Fairfax a few days ago. I second his thoughts about it. They do good work with quality products. My company uses them whenever a tint is required.

I took mine to TintFX, here's my post:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=114

The standard carbon was $200
I went with the carbon plus for $240

Good quality install and service was top notch. They seem to have some good availability. I was able to do the next morning.

What brand does he use.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, did you guys get the tint cut around the rear break light or just tint the whole back? I though itll look weird if it was cut around and also if the break lights dont have the same brigthness... Will the defrost lines be afffected?

That's a good question, I need to ask which one he used on mine he has different ones including Llumar, Solar Gard, & 3M.

he did mine around the 3rd brake light at first and looked extremely hideous... so I googled on this topic and immediately found out how easy it was to remove the 3rd brake light. (Disconnect the connector in the cargo/trunk area, then hop into your back seats carefully pry up on assembly and slide back.) immediately notified him and he thanked me for future BRZ/FRS installs and re tinted mine at no charge!

What about cutting edge tint. There well reveiwed and the owner has a sweet brz.(I'm the owner!) Plus I'm closer, less expensive, and probably the quickest tint shop in the DMV area.

Or your tint guy can get a long squeegee and that way he saves time trying to remove the brake light.

I've takin out the light it really doesn't change the install time. We're quicker because we use computer cut to save install time, material and to make sure no knife blades touch your car. Plus I've got three guys all trained by me, and I'm not a cockey person but this is what I do. I've competed nationally for tinting and this is my family craft.

I'm not here to talk over your profession or family craft. I simply stated a mere opinion of what I saw personally being done.
