had a shitshow of a visit to Ourisman Toyota/Scion in Chantilly today. my roommate decided to go test drive an auto frs today, we walked up to the entrance and the rep standing at the front door asked if we needed help. my roommate says asks to test drive an auto frs and they guy blurts out "they dont make those".. i literally laughed out loud at him. so he goes in to sit in one of the 5 manual frs they got sitting on the lot just to see how it is inside, and i wander over to the hot lave sitting outside. theres a lady out there leaning against the back of it smoking a cigarette and ashing all over the trunk, turns out its a salesperson. seriously, its bad enough ourisman is pre-installing their $960 "appearance package" on all the cars that includes the stupid ass ugly pinstripe and bumper appliquie, but then she is practically putting her cigarette out on the trunk.. then her and another rep try telling me about the whole "no autos" thing and im like "my girlfriend has one dumbasses"...
despite being way less convenient, i might get mine from Koons instead just based on the dumb shit i saw at ourisman today.. |

I got mine at Arlington Koons and it was fine, I guess. They made the effort to trade with another dealer to get me an Ultramarine one, which is cool, though there were some mishaps following purchase that were annoying - I had to go back twice to resign the financial paperwork since their system was printing it wrong and the lienholder wouldn't accept it, then they had issues getting registration set up due to trading with another dealer. Thankfully I live a ten minute walk from the dealer, never mind a drive. The good news is that they don't seem to drill the bumper for plates, instead they drill the grill, I guess. Of course, whoever they got mine from already did. Their finance guy was pretty cool and very no-pressure. He'd explain what each package was, but a single "no" was all it took. I haven't been back for service yet, so we'll see how that goes. Definitely going to get the chirping checked out when I do. Not sure it's worth making a special trip for it, though.

Mine is chirping hella crazy. Wont do anything until a real fix is out, the car runs fine. Don't really care what noise it makes as long as it doesnt blow up or something lol

At this point, the dealers have blown more cars up than fuel pumps have. I expect it to stay that way for a long time.

I'm not saying that you or David should take your cars in to get the pumps replaced, but I figured I'd relay my experiences. |

It seems to be hit or miss. Some people get their chirping back quickly, some slowly, some not at all. I only really hear it at idle so it doesn't bother me too much. My random rattles bother me more.

I have a sharkfin I want to install, but I could use someones accurate and 20/20 vision in installing it. Any volunteers? PM me. I'm in and around Fairfax most of the week.

Let's install it at the auto cross? Down force will increase times by 2 seconds!

Instruction says you gotta clean and do some weird stuff. I like bolting and turning a wrench to install. 3M kinda freaks me out.
