Doing a small last minute meet Peets at 435 Railroad Ave, Danville, CA 94526 if anyone cares to come out. Be there at 10:15-10:45 probably, then going on a drive. Post here if you want to join and we'll wait up!

Fucking crazy and I don't wish this kind of situation on anyone.
Glad to hear you're ok. As I mentioned at the drive chat, wife and I had a close call too (luckily it was low speed) and was not as crazy as yours. I swear everything slowed down when I was staring at that jeep's headlights and I didn't really have any time to do anything else other than hit my brakes and swerve towards the cliff face (telling myself not to hit it). My wife even did the "stomping on her imaginary brake pedal on her side" which we were both laughing at over breakfast.

Yeeeep. Mine looks just like that. Looks like that part is complete junk. I'm going to fab something to replace it.

why not take it to the dealer and have it replaced under warranty? And repeat until they realize it's a lousy part and develop something better.

going to the dealer is a complete waste of time because it will break again

already made one
it's adjustable too so you can set your height preference

hmmn mine is still intact. but it looks incredibly flimsy and rotates freely. your piece looks much sturdier but perhaps overkill?

Man.. That sounds awful. Glad it had a happy ending.

As a side note, love that roof rack and the overall look you've got going on your car. Keep it up!

Haha, yeah, thanks man. The roof rack was actually more of a functional upgrade than anything (I also have a cargo box) since my wife and I like to go backpacking with the dog and we almost always have nice twisty roads to get there . Glad someone likes my questionable taste/choices, lol.

Funny about the roof rack... Saturday night I was hanging out with my GF's friends, and one of them heard I had a Subaru. She asked "Is it AWD?" No. "Does it have a roof rack?" No. "What kind of a Subaru is THAT??"

Haha had to think of your car, Flip. Guess I should've said that my car doesn't have a roof rack but I know someone who does...

got to drive my father in-law's S600 yesterday. V12 baby!!! haha. Well he was following me in his other S600 so I didn't push it too hard. But man it has so much torque, I don't think I ever got over 3000RPM. Didn't need to, with that much torque/power...

For some reason, I thought you meant a Honda S600 with a V12 (mind...BLOWN!)

Then I realized you meant a Mercedes S600, lol. The biggest I've ever driven was my god father's V10 M5, and that thing was ridiculous, breaking the rear loose even with the traction control on.
