Does this mean that it will not work on my device? I have the original firmware, can I test with the rooted firmware, and if it do not work revert to the original firmware?

It has work really well except that the sound for DTV stopped working, but they will send me a new DTV module

I don't see why you couldn't swap the ROM out - @2forme has way more experience with this than I do.

Nice to hear they have some kind of support from the manufacturer too. I may just grab one of these instead

that unit looks like it has the same back end hardware. I'm more concerned with button mapping. It doesn't have the same buttons on the face...

Will I be able to revert to the old firmware if I try?

I don't have the stock firmware, so my guess is no. You can see if the company you bought it from can provide you with the firmware?

after constant problems with my knockoff unit, ive finally contacted my seller, who offered me a partial refund or a replacement unit. I spent some time lightly sanding the top and bottom bezels to make it fit in my dash. Do any of you think that sending it in for the replacement would result in them not accepting it due to the sanding? or would it matter?

i think they want the old one to be returned first.

depending on how much the refund is, im considering sucking up my losses, and then shelling out the extra $ to get the capacitive touch screen unit that was posted a few pages back. The only thing i didnt like about the unit was the resistive screen. I actually preferred using a stylus on it rather than my finger.

What was wrong with your unit? I have two (one resistive and one capacitive)... no issues on either.

I don't think they will cause much fuss over bezel. You should ask them, though.

I had to sand down the bezels on the capacitive, too.

theres something shorted out inside the unit. my stock unit works fine, and the knock off used to work if i hooked it to the battery, but now nothing i can do will make it show anything but a plain white screen. it does not boot anymore.

Ive tried troubleshooting with the vendor, and they eventually said theyll just replace it, cause nothing they suggested worked.
