The OP's point is the Japanese get the best of everything, be it BRZ or 86 and we get the shaft as per usual. I'm somewhat disappointed, but the only thing I really want in the FRS is the heated seats and the LED/HID headlights. Up here in Vancouver it gets freaking cold. Heated seats are amazing.

I would love to see the dual climate/nicer back seat/push start as an option for the FRS.

Firearms, freedoms, and boobs.

Sorry but the thread title says...yeah. /thread

@OP Damn settle down and stop yelling and crying like a child. This is not a luxury car, it's a cheap fun to drive entry level sports car with emphasis on handling and light weight. All this complaining tonight is crazy. Your acting like it should be fully loaded for 22k. Subaru has already said they will have 2 models (premium and limited), Scion will most likely have 1 model that you can add options too like they have done in the past. Why don't you just settle down and wait to see what happens in January when we get more info. /rant

Hmmm... I thought the point of the GT86 was a low spec model available to the youth with very limited options at a LOW PRICE which leaves the doors open to modify and personalize the vehicle the way the buyer wanted. I dont see any other way of getting an inexpensive car unless the parts its made up of are in fact inexpensive. I remember the toyota engineer stating that he hated the fact that they were coming out with a low spec model for the youth to modify because he dislikes modified cars. But its not up to the engineers its up to toyota. And like somebody previously stated Toyota felt this step would at the end benefit them more.

You wanted cheap you have cheap. You wanted cheap that way you have more monies to modify. You have that as well. Dont like it? Buy another car. A few of you are taking pride in the scion model and are standing by it. Kudos. I will be going the Subaru direction.

I agree. Here is hoping that the USDM BRZ will be similar to the JDM version. Amenities and details. I want my car to be looking dapper since it'll be my DD.

There's no other way to say this this, Scion is a low end brand and they are trying to lose as little money (bc I read somewhere that toyota/subaru are losing money on this apparently) as possible by cheapening the interior and exterior as much as they can.

Sure you get the driving dynamics and all that this is supposed to be, but I'm sure a lot of people will be disappointed and move to the BRZ bc of the cheap interior. I think some will pay a bit more to have a daily driver with good driving dynamics while being surrounded in a nice environment.
There's the differentiation, and low price everyone is asking for. Pretty sure it will also help out a bit in the weight arena. Why do you feel that everyone needs heated seats, dual zone climate control etc? If it's a big deal, buy the goddamned BRZ. As is the Scion seems to cater more to the people who registered here anytime before this year for a back to basics driving machine.

Friggin exactly. And with that I refuse to read any further into this thread. Fucking bunch of cry babies, damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I'm a bit late, I think OP is Doing it Wrong™

- LED strips are not awesome, Copying audi doesn't make the car suddenly better
- Push button start is not a selling point, it's a worthless bullet point.
- Manual single zone AC is better. Is dual zone really worth it in a tiny 2+2? Is turning a knob that hard?
- Fog lamps are useless to 98% of the people who have them, people with them don't know how to use them, making them a danger to other motorists.
- You won't die if you don't have heated seats, I live in cold cold canada, and I've never felt like I needed heated seats. Just don't get into your car in your underwear when it's freezing outside and you'll be fine.

The FR-S is MUCH CLOSER to the design ideal behind this trio of cars than than the other two, and because of this, it'd be the one I'd get. Now if only it had wind down windows.

There is some pretty pathetic shit happening in this thread, I for one am looking forward to the base model.. why? I want the car for it's performance, looks are a factor but not as important. I know that because of the 'lack' of accessories in the base model, I can do what I want to it, and make it my own. I look forward to getting the 86 and doing some of my own modifying.... Heated seats and push button start my ass!

AMEN to those standing up for the Scion.

It looks like the most "true to the roots" version yet.

Let's hope the price comes in where we want!

There are wayyy to many sandy vaginas in this thread, first you want cheap, now your mad they took some of the expensive features away to make it cheap! There is no winning with most of you.

If you want the features buy the BRZ if you want the CAR barebones buy the FRS, I wouldnt be surprised to see some of these things as add ons to the car. Which is great in my opinion, you pay for what you want. If you just want a barebones car you get it, If you want LED's, fogs, ect you pay the premium.

The only thing I am disapointed in is the climate controls, they were pretty neat looking, but I still dont really care, I want this car to drive.

Agreed and do you really want to pay 24-25k for a Scion??? Lol
