Will a Borla catback exhaust void my warranty??

I called around and did a mild search, but I wanted up to date opinions on if just adding a Borla catback exhaust to my BRZ will void my warranty or not. 2 out of 3 Subaru's said it would not, with the one guy from my dealer that I bought from said it will void the warranty as it was not a Subaru part. But he seemed a bit overly strict. It's just a catback exhaust!!

I take it Borla Headers, a cool air intake, or supercharger/turbocharger will void it as it messes directly with the air intake for the engine.

Of course I could just keep all the original stuff and swap it back in if I have an issue...

No, it will not.

Each dealer is different and each service rep is different also. So you just have to try a few dealers and find out which are more mod friendly

As they say, it's a free country. Some dealers are more mod friendly, but no dealer can void your warranty due to a catback. The burden of proof is on them that the catback you installed caused damage to the vehicle if something does go wrong, and if you're only changing the exhaust, nothing will go wrong.

The dealer may talk tough, but when it comes down to things, they can't void your warranty for that. I just personally wouldn't want to give a dealer that will be like that any of my hard earned money.
