Reality set in and after strong consideration for a WRX or BRZ/FR-S... it's the right car for me right now.

Lots of room, good/great mileage (I commute 100-150 kms round trip per day)...

My wife's G6 is up to 175,000 kms with minimal service issues, although its showing some warts and may blow up soon as well. If and when that happens, she probably gets the Camry, and I get to shop all over again.

I like the WRX concept that Subaru showed recently... maybe in a year or 2 that'll be the car I go for... Love the current WRX but it's too costly to run/insure vs. the Camry.

Holy crap this is an old update. Sorry to hear the giving away of your Celica, sounded like it was time though. If this snow ever decides to melt I'll be putting mine up for sale and saying goodbye too.

Hope you get something fun when it comes time to replace the G6.

Getting married is beyond stupid, you can say what you will about love, but it really is a waste of time. Case in point as far as this car goes it sounds like this is yet one more compromise that you may regret and one day hold against your future wife.
I say skip the frs for now and if you ever get divorced, then buy the modestly priced sports car!

I'm seeing a trend of men buying cars for their wives/ girlfriends. Did I miss something? Am I the odd man out for dating women who are financially stable and capable of making their own decisions?

Cars are not appliances, washers and driers are.

I still have my blue 1990 Celica GTS! Only about 145000 km, so still pretty new! The scion TC feels very similar to drive. I wanted something different, so now I have an FRS!!

I would get her a Kia Soul, it's preposterously practical and has a 10Y / 100k warranty. IF you're gonna keep it forever, get them to take care of it for the first half.

And you get your dang FRS. You can transport up to one kid in it

If you want a really practical fun car get a focus ST. If you want a really GOOD fun car get the FRS. There, that was easy. I can fit lots of junk in the FRS, and I bet all your usual stuff would fit too, it just isn't quite as convenient. If you are willing to make that sacrifice then you should. If not, again, Focus ST.

There is a large percentage of pussified beta males out there that will do anything for a piece of azz. It's pathetic.

Does fiance love the FR-S too? That's going to make all the difference because if you get her on board you can probably convince her to use her car more ofen once kids come in the picture. There room for babies & toddlers...since you keep your cars 10+ years...can we assume you're good with money? Maybe be able to balance 3 cars in the future?

Comments on: Velsoter (there is one on my daily route that I used to pass, now it sits in a driveway along the way with a dealership service tag, it appears to be long-term out of service/quit. Re: Kia/Hyundai...I'm just not that interested in anything that might need parts from Korea and be an issue in the coming future. Re: Fusion, I've seen quite a lot of them done up in my area (Sport pkg?), interior seemed nice at the auto-show, I think they have the tech gremlins figured out of the sync. RE WRX: Is the kind of appear muscle cars used to bring, room for family and fun.
