Its not entirely impossible to remove a wheel that has a boot on it. But, he would have had to have spare lug bolts.

It's a VW. The wheel probably fell off when he looked at it wrong. :P

I can assure you its not magic, it can be easily done. I certainly hope he stealth dropped the wheel/boot combo back off at the PD.

When I did that exact same thing, they didn't think it was very funny. Neewwpppp. Young and stupid though, was 18, and the boot was on my Supra.

What does GRM have to say about it's performance potential?

I've not driven one; i'd like to drive one soon. I've not driven an Accent yet either, just sat in one. I like that the Accent doesn't have any Stability Control, Traction Control, Brake Assist or anything like the Rio5. If I were to really consider the Rio5, i'd need to check out the fuses and see if I could manually disable that stuff. The Accent would be much less of a hassle. Also, something to mention is that apparently the new 2012 Rio5 has a new engine.

My reference to Grassroots Motorsports wasn't specifically about the Rio5, but about low-powered, fun hatchbacks in general such as the Accent, Mazda2 and Fiesta.
