I just read this, im super jelly! those classes are always sold out, as with Gnome Art School which i think you should also check out. Are you going to do the online course or do the live instructions? Some of your "new" instructors iv met before, and they are really knowledgeable and talented, take advantage and ask as much questions as possible and soak in the info.

Unlike traditional classrooms with lesson plans, which typically only teach technique. Your instructors are in the industry currently, and give GREAT feedback on more than just technique but only if you ASK ASK ASK. Don't just take the class, milk it for all its worth, and even if you come off annoying or an asshole in your emails.. it doesn't matter, take full advantage of your instructors.

I am starting out in the Fundamentals class with Thomas Fluharty. I am doing the critiqued course. I have already learned a lot just from emailing them and asking about the course. They critiqued my portfolio and made recommendations for which classes to take etc and in what order. Very helpful. I will continue to make the most of my time here. I am hoping that it is enough to help me get into the industry eventually as a concept artist. I will look into the gnome art now though as well. Everything I read, is that schoolism is much better than the basic illustration degree taught at an accredited school, but I am sure that is debatable.

The reason these new schools exist because the education system in place for "art degree" does not exactly fit to prepare graduates specific parts of the industry. Companies in Movies, Games, Animation really care about what you can do rather than where you graduated from. And plenty of employees in those high paid companies are self-taught artists.

So the people who are in the industry now, have acknowledged this fault and have attempted to open a school that helps teach and train people who want to get into those industries. Especially an industry that evolves constantly, especially through technology.

If you want to get into concept art, be prepared for the shock of your life, its not what you think it is.

I am only using one screen. I only played with the system for all of 5-10 minutes last night though. I will put some real time in tonight.

Went to art school for awhile, doing taxes now.

First picture is an 8' x 8' Mural I did as a teenager on my bedroom wall. The second is a Cartman cookie from this past Christmas. Not sure if it shows a progression in skill or a regression. I have a Waicom tablet at the casa that I play around with occasionally.

Alright, I finally bought a Cintiq, so my digital art should improve drastically now over the original 70dpi iPad I was using.

I am still learning, but I made this Deadpool picture today. What do you think?

and the workspace, photo is really yellow sorry.
