tc (MT) = 18k and it does "160" hp more like 140...... now when this car came around.. the 25k price tag always followed it... so id say expect it... since it looks a lot better than a Tc and it should be way faster... so add up 18k + looks + performance = 23-25k <---- expect this.... and let us fucking whine about the interior....it CHEAP!!! tc has a cheap interior ( i own one) and it cost me 18k and remember that Scion has that crap they call "true price" where you can't bargain w/ the dealership, you pay tag price no matter what.... i will probably buy the TRD version if one is made... they'll probably do something similar to those tc RC versions...

When I think of Spartan I think of Elise. The S2000 was extremely comfortable for what little it had and oozed quality (even with the 1990 radio that you never used). Things I love to be able to say about the FR-S.

You could always just put a thicker headgasket in to lower compression if you have to or lower comp pistons and rods if you plan on going with more boost. I have installed plenty of FI kits on high compression Honda ITR motors before and they were fine with low boost. DI is just that much better with the ability to controll fuel to a finer point. I love boost like any other boost junky, but I love the high rpm NA motors to. I believe this car will see plenty of both types in the aftermarket once the car becomes available to the public and I cant wait.
ok its been confirmed by several sources they designed the engine to match other subaru engine mount locations. the WRX engine WILL bolt in. plumbing? you would pass up on a WRX engine because of some simple plumbing issues? you can bet you runcle floyyd there will be companies (like HASSport) to make WRX bolt in kits with piping and anything else you need.
as for low boost... why go to the trouble of boosting at all just to be scared of going over 9 lbs? i was boosting 16+ on a stock bottom end SR20 with injectors and power FC. THAT is how turbos should be done. pistons are key.

i dont doubt eventually some company(s) will sell a turbo kit for the FR-S. question will be, is it worth it? ~35hp for like $4k? im sure a WRX engine wouldnt cost much more than that.

I thought the front lights were different. Will this actually work? If so you just cheered me up! :happy0180:

So I'm guessing this engine has no VVT system right?

I really like the car. I am well - WELL, mind you - past the intended age of motoring ownership for this little car, but because it reminds me of the countless Japanese RWD coupes I owned during and after college, I will want one.

Unless they beat my ass with a $27k price tag. Then it ain't gonna happen. This is, all day, a $20-22k car. Any more would be CRIMINAL.

@Shinchu..The amount you boost has absolutely nothing with how much power you gain...

I was boosting 8psi in my Si on wastegate pressure and was still sitting at 400whp, about a 120% gain over stock.

No need to turn this into a turbo argument though!

I hope Scion offers some of the amenities as factory options!

Not sure if it's the angle but it seems like the cool edge to edge review mirror is also gone.
Not a complaint, just an observation. I love the car and Jack Hollis as well.

New Radio system, HID lighting, maybe fog lights? Remote start/push to start and call it a day.
