What? You don't need a 2nd valve stem to take air out! LOL.

Plus I'd never use nitrogen anyway considering I'm always adding and subtracting air at autoX/track anyway. I doubt anyone is lugging a nitrogen tank to the track!!!

Yeah, I don't give a shit about the dual valve stems, I just want something that is lightweight and looks good. (And isn't RPF1 - no offense)

LOL but then you pick one that looks just like the RPF1.

I don't really care for the looks of the RPF1, the double-six spokes reminds me of the stock wheels on the Scion TC. Which look decent enough, but I don't wanna pay for wheels and then have them look like stock wheels off another car. But then I decided to go with black wheels and all of sudden it doesn't matter what they look like. So now I'm really considering the RPF1s again, since they are one of the lightest 17"s around. Seeing the black ones on the EDGE car, they look pretty good after all. But I keep wavering between that (max lightness, ok looks) and some Enkei PF01s in black or gunmetal (slightly heavier, better looks). Anyways i am rambling but hey, it's the Off-Topic CHAT!

There were two reasons I went RPF1 and they are sorta combined.

Reason 1) 9" width is the widest allowed by SCCA STX Class. 17" is the best performance wheel size for the platform and the cheapest/lightest/proper fitment 17x9 wheel is the RPF1

Reason 2) On RPF1 wheels narrower than 9" the spokes are horrible, pretty much convex and it makes the wheel look horrible. I hate it. Once the wheels are 9" or wider the spokes are straight and the wheel looks WAY better. The lip is larger as well.

I was actaully just gonna get another 17X9 rota (DPT this time not grid) for track but I'm glad I went REF1. They are really MUCH lighter than my grids and I can feel it big time! I love the way the grids look on the car though so they will stay DD wheel.

Hey Blaine - Yeah, this is just going to be a DD wheel so maybe I will consider some Rotas. Just wanted something super light for my spirited weekend drives.

Plato you make some good points. I also have a first gen TC, so I see what you mean regarding that wheel design. But comon the Koseis don't look exactly like the RPF1s!

I think I like the Koseis so much because they remind me of these which I have always liked:

Dear god what is wrong with me.

LOL OK they are a little different, I'll give you that.

Just my personal wheel tastes, no real rhyme or reason:
Five spoke: Like. (e.g., MR-S OEM wheels, countless others)
Double-five spoke: LOVE (e.g., Enkei PF01, AME FS01, LFA OEM)
Six spoke: Like. (e.g., TE37, SSR Comps)
Double-six spoke: Meh. (e.g., tC OEM, RPF1, Kosei K1s)
Seven spoke: Meh.
Eight spoke:
...
BBS/mesh-style (14-spoke or more): LOVE

so yeah tintumz LOVE your choice!
