I don't daily drive my GT-R. I drive my automatic G35 coupe. It's not stock, but it's reaaaallly heavy. That's why I was thrilled about this car. I wanted... RWD, light, not SUPER expensive and handles great, as a per-requisite. Of course, there are several cars that fit this category (that I will not mention), but who can pass up TOYOTA'S reliability over those other companies? And when I heard boxer engine... I thought, cool! aftermarket should be kind!

So... here we go... we played the wait game for the car.... now it's the aftermarket's turn. It was really hard (still is) to find anything affordable to mod the GT-R with (we call it the "GT-R tax")... but I wasn't looking to go faster anyways. I am happy as is. TRUST me when I say to those concerned with the "heritage" of the AE86, etc... I am the same way with the GT-R. I would take my GT-R over a lambo, or just about any other exotic. It's my dream car, and I thought it would be SWEET to have the new-gen hachiroku sitting next to her

I'm sick of you fan-boys who are too scared to criticize the car because of what it's "supposed" to stand for. 200 hp is not fast, PERIOD. I can appreciate those who are honest and at least say, the car's purpose is handling / driving enjoyment... which I do appreciate.

@Torquesteered

197hp isn't underpowered? okay... Yes the world is full of "turns" but even a camry can hug the road just fine at the speed limit, so your point is kinda moot. I'm talking about daily driving mostly when I say, what can you do to "enjoy" that great handling... not much. But that's my opinion.

You don't know squat if you think a Camry is going to beat it for starters. Secondly, the car follows the MO of being a platform to build upon (which interestingly enough is what Scion's exact MO is). And you have 40 some odd post here, we have already been through this discussion. Do you understand what a "Drivers" car is? Let me guess, your answer will be "Yes I know what a drivers car is"....to which if you did then you wouldn't complain about the power of the vehicle especially when the car is 2600lbs.

I gutted my race car and it weighed 2550lbs. I was currently pushing 150whp at max at that weight and was running down cars on the track with more power than me because I had to drive my ass off in order to catch them. Coming from that sorta beginning makes me appreciate the power level and weight of this car. It also lets me know how potent this car will be when the aftermarket starts to make power out of it, seeing as how I'm at 326whp and the 2550lbs. I want more power out of the FRS but no way in hell am I going to complain about the "starting" point for the chassis. You can not simply look at this car based on ONE merit (power). It's the entire package/picture that you have to buy.

If all you want is power and from the factory, then buy a different car. But if you want a total package...FRS is about the only car on the new car market that delivers this for the expected price range.

200hp and 2600lbs =

Not fast at a drag strip, but faster than it's competition (Miata, current GC 2.0...etc)
Fast at the AutoX
Fast at a tight road course
Fast through the corners

So, everything but a straight line...I can live with that, cause straight line is not my thing.

PS....you can't be a fan boy for a car you don't even own yet noob..

Read my post again. I didn't say it was underpowered, but all the Mustang, Camaro, GC...etc. guys say that. Read my post again.

You seem to be doing a pretty good job at it.
1) Just because I only have said # of posts, doesn't mean I don't read all the threads or have my own opinion. I've been reading this forum everyday since my join date.
2) It's a wonderful platform. When have I EVER said otherwise? I know the car isn't one-dimensional, just like how I don't bag on tC drivers for driving a Scion. My initial comments that sparked this whole debate was because someone said it has enough power and isn't underpowered. You said it youself, you drive the wheels off of your car (kudos), you gutted it and modded it. But, how old is your car? How long did they develop your car for and how much funding / resources / etc. was used (compared to this car)? You're defending a car that you can keep up with in your existing ride. I like the frs' looks over a tC and it's RWD, but why are you excited to change to it if you have an equivalent race car? Interior?

If you read all the said post, why are you beating a dead horse? The tC has only been around since 2005. I have a 2006, so not that long but that didn't stop the Aftermarket for it. The aftermarket for the tC is massive and rivals all of the other cars that have a long standing backing.

I want a DD....so that my tC can go full blown racecar. Once it's caged it won't be on the streets anymore. I would have like a GC 2.0, but when I found out it's 2.0 turbo and RWD has a hard time beating a stock Scion tC, I axed it off the list. Use to have a 350z and love those, but they have heating issues when pushed on a track, and again....a bit on the heavy side.

I love that the FRS/BRZ/GT86 will only weigh 100lbs more than my tC without me having to take a single panel out of it. So when I go to mod it, I know what to expect from additional power in combination with it's weight. It should be all the more a blast to drive just as my tC is for me.

Why is it that Dragonitti's tC is always the center of his argument? lol
