Uh Oh...Scion's PR Department is either going to surprise us with the "86" name or maybe they're failing hard at the start.

Anticipation is killing me! I love the BRZ but I know it'll be more expensive than the Scion version. Since I have a tC now, this is the exact car I'll be waiting on.. CAN'T WAIT!

Very cool that they have an AE86 next to it. Now I want one of each!

You never know, they could change the name from FR-S to FR86. Either way, I'm calling my local dealership's sales manager tomorrow and getting on some kind of list. Wonder if they'll bring Blizzard Pearl as a color option.. if so, I'll take one please. Afterall my tC is BP.

You don't see the reference in the taillights, the dual exhaust and hence the name GT86. The AE86 didn't have those...

Gone is the concept car’s name FT-86, replaced by GT86. With design inspired by the Toyota 2000GT from the sixties and more recently, the early eighties rear-wheel drive drifting sensation Corolla Levin AE86, from which the GT86 takes its name, the new coupe was borne out of an intriguing joint development project between Toyota and Subaru.

it says FR-S right above it.

It's the FR-S. Regardless, it's just a name. What's the big deal?
