This is not a mule, what other testing would they have to do? It looks like a 100% production model. It's probably one of many in SoCal being ready to loan out to car mags for testing.

frs headlights

Can you guys notice the missing led's on the headlights compared to the ft86? I wonder if those led headlights will be part of the more equipped model, anyone have an idea? Great pics, thanks!

the one rolling around in CA is a standard spec entery model, here in the states Scion will make you pay for the HID's, Rims, ect.

^that. They will make the HIDs optional to keep the price down. Just like we have predicted, based on this mule, Scion will get something in-between the 2 JDM specs of the 86.

Just make sure you stick with the same drive side. LHD and RHD cars have different cutoffs, so you'll be blinding oncoming traffic if you get the wrong ones.

Those headlights do look really cheap on the Scion though. I think I like the Subaru's the most, but some mods to the Scion one would make them alright. I think what I like the least about the Toyota models is the signal indicators low on the bumper.

Oc reppin it. Love how we get stuff before anyone else. Don't see why everyone's trippin over the headlights, im sure the hids will be an option, just like they are on the low grade model in japan.

Agreed, even if the HIDs aren't an option, you can go for an aftermarket kit. They're pretty cheap these days and reliable from my experience.

And LED daytime running lights are just plain cool...BRZ cooler...

I thought you said HID's, 18's etc where all be standard.

GT86 = Pointy
BRZ = Birds Beak (hawk style)

Mule or no Mule rolling around CA (which I don't believe it's just a mule people)...the FRS would not have the BRZ's style headlights on it. The BRZ is not it's JDM counterpart.

Doesn't it look like the bumper of the BRZ has a notch that follows the shape of the 86 headlight perfectly? the same notch could be behind the 86 headlight. Maybe it's just me, but other than the little shape variation on that area, that overall shape of the housing is the same, and should be interchangeable.

those lights look similar, but without holding them its hard to tell..
but it WOULD help if the orientation was the same. both the brz and 86 are "facing" the same dirrection, but are different side of the car.. which means that you have perspective error
