What Android version is this going to require. I know a lot of the Android based head units like the Ca-Fi and Adayo are running legacy versions (2.1 I believe) but this would be an excellent front end for it.
Do you think this would work off a MK808 Android Micro PC? I was planning to pair one of those with the AppRadio2 or the Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS in order to get the maximum sound quality from the Android device. |

Right now it is being designed for ICS and newer, so basically 4.x.x.
So much has changed since Gingerbread. That going back to do any coding for it is going to be a ton of money. I think what you will see is Ca-Fi etc. and many other head unit makers going to modern versions of Android. Thats when you will see a huge market of UI and other possibilities.

Def interested to see where this goes. Commented on the G+ group if you're still looking for beta testers! Would be running this on an N7 and an N4.

I have not set it up yet, trying to get some dev support before I launch it.

this looks awesome, but a word of warning: the nexus 7 is annoyingly polarized such that it perfectly cancels out with sunglasses while in landscape. You can't see a damn thing. so anyone planning to install a n7 dash mount should only do so if you never wear sunglasses (or unpolarized ones)

My biggest issue with the possibility of a tablet install is the lack of physical buttons. Is there any way to control a Nexus 7 with a remote or anything like that? And I don't mean with a remote app on your phone; I mean an actual dedicated hardware remote control device.

To get the tablet to wake up when you turn the car on just enable "stay awake when charging" http://aokp.co http://goo.im/devs/aokp/grouper/nightly (Nexus 7 WiFi only) http://goo.im/devs/aokp/tilapia/nightly (Nexus 7 WiFi + SIM) |
