Just based off how it looks right now, if the 86 is about exactly the same as scion vs. the BRZ, I have to go with the 86. I like aggressiveness it shows so this is what I'd go with. Although the Subaru looks more grown up than Toyota's version (interior). I'd still wait on the price to see where I lean towards more to.

Small diiference, but I like the red time and temp LEDs on the FRS better because they accent the red seat stitching

That BRZ pic is messed up there. Other pics like Leeky's clearly show that it's red. Those LCD displays in the pic in this thread/PR pic are missing their covers or something weird.. either way in reality they will be red.

The interior of the FRS looks to be much more detail oriented than the BRZ's.

Slap the Subaru badge into the 86 interior and I'm good to go! For some reason I just really like that red stitching and the all black dash.

Erm, your comment still doesn't make any sense. The only differences appear to be:
*steering wheel emblem *tachometer face color *dash plank trim [fake carbon fiber vs. silver] *Audio/NAV head unit *maybe different pedals, if not a rendering error The BRZ interior pic above is a bit misleading, but the BRZ production car at TMS showed a different shifter boot from the 86, but the same e-brake boot as the 86. Those rather trivial trim changes are "to taste" only and don't make a real impact on the interior. The only significant functional difference is the Audio/Nav unit. Since we don't know for sure what audio options will be in the USA spec cars, it's too early to even comment on those pieces.

The dash speaker grills appear to be different, Leeky's photos match the PR one in style, which looks cheap and kinda ugly. Not sure if the Toyotas match in reality or not.. not a big detail anyways of course. Shift knobs are different but no biggie there either.

does it look like the headlights can be swapped?
other than the wiring which can easily be fixed, it seems like they're exactly the same. can somebody correct me if i'm wrong? |

No, they are different shaped at the corner (86 is pointy, BRZ slants down like the beak of a bird). If you swap headlights then you will have to swap bumpers too. |

Or you can modify the bumper to fit.

I prefer the pointy, shark-like nose of the 86 to the smiley face of the BRZ, but both look fantastic. I can't wait to see them out in the wild!
