I need to stop spending money on my car!!!

Post up some pics of those orange wheels on your car when you get them on!

Forgot to mention, I hit 2k miles last night and randomly decided it was time to feel what it was like to turn off traction control and slide the ass end around an empty parking lot. Wow.

Anybody here knows near the Bay a good shop that can do mounting and balancing of wheels/tires? What would you do? Transfer of tpms from stocks? Or buy new tpms? Or don't put tpms to the new wheels and tires?

Depends. If you're planning on just using your new wheels/tires as your daily (not swapping back and forth with another set) I would swap tpms and call it a day. I wouldn't buy another set for the new wheels since you'd still have to get them reprogrammed (duplicating tpms on subarus are a mixed bag and I hate that tire pressure warning light). You can also go no tpms, but again, that light bugs the crap out of me, but nothing a little electrical tape can't fix

Gordon and the gang at Edge Motorworks has 2 location, one in Dublin and in Mountain View. Give them a call and they have an Auto Cross BRZ build.

+1. If you have two sets, have the TPMS on the daily wheels. Save your money on the second set, pressure gauges are cheap from $5 to infinity so just have that laying around. I have business cards in the car incase dash lights decides to bug me. Sometimes, even the tc lights bug so I insert a business card there.

I'm not going to have TMPS in either of my sets...

I don't look at the gauges much when I drive so the lights aren't bothersome.

I like to use Auto Innovations in Milpitas. I had them transfer the TPMS to my wheels when I had them installed. If I was going to be switching wheels all the time I don't think I'd bother with the TPMS sensors or at the very least i'd put them on the wheels that would see the most amount of time on the car. Seeing a light on the dashboard bugs me, although as I learned when I had a STI gauge cluster in my 03 WRX, you get used to the light and eventually you don't even notice it.

Good luck!

on my Lexus I swapped the OEM TPMS over to the new wheels as it became the new DD setup. Call me lame or lazy, but I like having the TPMS working and not having to stare at the light. On the Lexus it's even worse because it replaces your normal info display with a warning until you get the issue resolved. And it has saved me once or twice when I got in the car without looking at the tires and almost immediately the light told me something was wrong with the tire and I was able to stop and check before I got out on the road. If you swap wheels/tires all the time and are diligent about checking the pressures regularly, knock yourself out and save yourself some money, learn to ignore the light or cover it up. But for me I don't mind spending the extra dough for OEM level quality of life.
