Drifting places in Portland
I'm aware of Pats acres/PARC.
It seems like a great place to drift but right now it's a bit steep for me. 40 one time membership fee 100 per event fee Is there any other places in Portland or Washington area?

You might want to check out Bob's events at Pacific Raceways. They're pretty cheap, I think around $50, but you're going to spend more time and money on gas getting up there. $100 is pretty normal for a drift event, most of it's covering insurance and rental of the track.

Ouch yeah going to Kent makes it the same cost if you count round trip. I guess 100 bucks don't sound bad after all. The thing is I've never drift before. So at pat acres they have try outs and I don't want to spend 30 bucks auditioning on a set track. I will prefer an open space regulated lot where you can learn basics before attempting a more advance course with trees surrounding it.

This might be a long shot, but ORP isn't too far away, they might have something along those lines one day. That track has a TON of elevation change though, probably not too great for drifting, but ya never know.

I go to NW Industrial area's and practice. Find a spot, go for it for about 10 mins before getting reported, switch area's, and repeat.

I personally hate the idea of drifting in the public.

Yeah, not so good of an idea of drifting in the streets. Plus lots of things to hit, especially if you've never drifted before. I'd recommend going to one of Bob's events at pacific raceways, they're actually in a huge parking lot, so there isn't really anything to hit. Learning how to drift on the track is a pretty steep learning curve, especially on a brand new car.

I guess If I feel confident after attending one of Bobs drifts events then I can attempt a more advance day at track at Pats. Thanks for the info Chris!

As tempting as that sounds, I'm too much of a boyscout I'm more afraid of what I'll do to my car and someone property if car goes out of control.
