Question to whomever has installed the DW 65 fuel pump...

This is the pump in question.

http://www.deatschwerks.com/products...51-1010-detail

According to the pictures in the install manual,

1) It comes with plugs so that it is true plug and play and no cable soldering is necessary;

Answered, it does come with plug and play connector.

2) the instructions show to use the two O-rings and no spacer, is that an error in the instructions, or should the spacer be removed?

3) It fits completely inside the canister, to the point the clips snap back into place.

I have a hard time believing that because it seems all aftermarket FP are longer than the stock one.

Can anyone whoi has actually installed it in our cars comment/answer the 3 questions?

recommendation...buy a real pump from a company that makes pumps, there is lots of talk on the forum about what all it takes to MAKE this pump work...I prefer when I pay for a manufactured product for the product to have already been made...if you know what i mean.

And an example of a good company would be?

Also, feedback on DW?

Lastly, the workarounds to make the pumps fit in our cars are basically with all and any options available, so it is not limited to DW (IF the DW does need workarounds, hence the thread).

Walbro has a pretty good reputation. Not sure if they make anything for our vehicles yet though.

I have done research about it, and their response (and basically every companies that make pumps) is that they make universal pump and they can't make a pump specific for every car, so the user has to deal with workarounds to upgrade the pumps. (This of course does not apply to high volume cars, but of course our car is far from high volume).

This is why I'm asking about the DW pump, because looking at their manual it SEEMS it does drop in like you would expect, no workaround required.

Either way, I have one arriving soon and I'll try it on and have my answer, just wanted to know if anyone had already tried it.

Also want to hear bad feedback on DW fuel pumps.

My pump didn't look like that. I am not sure where Full Blown gets their pumps from, but I know John told me that he recommends two O rings and the white spacer.

I know I can search, and I've read Drift Office say based on previous experience he wouldn't recommend it. I am asking you if you have a different angle than what is already in the forum.

The pump Visconti sells is NOT DW. Its SBD290.

hmmm...that's interesting I recall him pushing the DW65 when it fist came out.

Sometimes you should just look to people who do this (reputably) for a living and look at the products they use (or more importantly don't use)
