How does this stupid tax work?? If I bought the car in November do I have to pay last years 2012 plus 2013? Or just the prorate then pay 2013s next cycle?

Luckily, because I bought in February, they'll pro-rate my property tax (our 'excise' tax here) this year so it won't be too bad. By the time I get hit for a full year, some depreciation will be figured in. Still, not cheap, about what you guys pay. But this tax goes to my town so at least I can see it being used for street repair, fire equipment, senior center, police department, schools, etc. And I even have some say in how it's being used. When I give it to the state, it just goes into a black hole somewhere...
