Keep fresh air scoop?

I've done the Zeta performance intake tube with a works Motorsport DIF. however, I got rid of my fresh air scoop. Should I keep it on?

The stock tube that puts the intake in front of the radiator?

From what I've seen on here everyone says it keeps the intake temps down.

Yeah that one. Really? I took it out and noticed a difference in sound and response. Others?

I took off my scoop, because it require when I installed the aFe Takeda Intake. Certainly at the low end, the car feel more power at the 1st and 2nd gear.

Put it back in! I'll reference you back to my thread here with some actual datalogging on temps and MAF. You'll get the improvement in response by doing the filter alone anyway, by removing the snorkel all you've done is open up the airbox to heatsoak.

neither.... injen is awful in every way. Perrin is overpriced for what it is IMO. You would get the same performance out of an inlet and drop in filter for much less money.

You can have the best of both worlds actually. I removed mine and added a bent piece of aluminum that allowed cold air in and kept the hot radiator air out. Amazing response and now more power throughout the rev band.

The tip of the snorkel (labeled "Fresh Air Scoop" below) resembles a Venturi tube with an entry cone of 30 degrees and exit cone of 5 degrees. Theoretically, this ensures constant air pressure into the airbox for predictable (rather than sporadic) readings to the MAFS. Again, that's theory so take it as you will FWIW. I wonder if people who remove their snorkels know they are losing this Venturi functionality. I sure as hell didn't know when I removed my snorkel til I looked it up.

Velocity stacks in race engines also utilize Venturi openings.

Statistics? Lol... no.... no statistics.

It takes hot air from the engine bay. That is a bad thing. I believe it also produces the leanest AFR of all intakes tested to date. Also a bad thing. Search. Lots of info on this topic already exists. I thought it was common knowledge by now...
