Hankook RS3s = too much body roll. Suggestions?
Tracked my BRZ yesterday using Hankook RS3s 225/45/17; everything else stock.
The RS3s gave me a lot more grip than stock tires but introduced a lot of body roll that I wasn't used to getting and really threw me off. Felt like I was driving a heavier car. My buddy really eliminated his Camero's body roll with sway bars but what worked for his car won't necessarily go as far on ours. What's the best thing I can do to reduce body roll for our car? Thanks. |

Lower COG, slightly higher spring rates help a ton.
If you want to go about it on the frugle route, H&R & Eibach have some quality springs for cheap. Also, sways will help like you stated. edit: What class are you running in?

The only modification I've done is RS3s 225/45/17 on Enkei RPF1s. There isn't anything stopping me from further modification other than $ and complexity/skill. I'm new to tracking (TT but no competitions) and plan to do more as often as I can.

just drive a bit more for now, a car that rolls over is more forgiving and easier to learn with.

Because of the way the stock rear differential works. If you lift one of the rear wheels you basically lose all power until that wheel gets traction again. Assuming traction control is off.

True, but I don't think I've seen anyone actually lift a rear wheel on street tires... please correct me if it's a common occurance that I just haven't observed at SoCal tracks.

I haven't in this car. On my STi with the stock springs and Cobb sway bars I could pick up the inside tire everyday driving to work, but thats a completely different animal.

youre on stock coils? and sways? Go to a minimum of an RCE yellow coil and a minimum of a strano sways and report back. I put my rcomps on the wifes car and felt the same way, too much traction
Dialing back to the direzzaV1 feels fine with oe coils and sways, fwiw she smiling now! |

Are the people here who have done tires and stiffened the suspension still okay with the stock bushings? I would think those would be the next weak link... but am curious if people are noticing them.
