Hot Lava FR-S spotted North bound near the Chicago Yatch club on Lakeshore drive at 3:47PM today.

I was hoping to see at least one BRZ/FR-S from the Chicagoland sub-forum before the weekend in Chicago ended.

Wish there were more FRS / BRZ owners in the fox valley area to get together like you guys ^. I am new to this and need some hands on help ! I want to learn how to drift without destroying my ride.

Good place to check out is: clubfr.net

There is an upcoming drift day this month in Shawano, WI.
it's about a 3 hour drive, but well worth it.
The track is a blast to drive! There should be a good amount of FR-S and BRZ's there this time around. Should be exciting.
Also, they always have a layour for beginners where you can practice Figure 8's with guidance from seasoned drivers.
I know it might be much just for figure 8's but the opportunity is there if you feel confident enough or the instructors feel that you are ready to drift on track... you have two different track layouts right there.

What Mike / Touge Factory said.

I've been going to ClubFR drift events since 2005 when I just started drifting. USAIR is very friendly to beginners with a lot of driving time and instruction if you want since there is a beginner circle/figure 8 setup in the parking lot area, an intermediate track layout, and an advanced track layout all running at the same time with about 30-40 drivers.

I love street drifting but I cant stress enough how much fun drifting on the track is and how much you can learn in just one day on the track compared to trying to street drift, avoid cops, and a lot of other factors. I also hope ClubFR will be throwing Drift 101's again this season.

I brought my FRS bone stock right after break-in to a Drift Day at USAIR last year. Although I do have experience drifting there, it was my first time ever trying to slide the FRS and all I kept thinking was, a bone stock car can do this?!

My videos from USAIR.
