Any plan to run a liquid to air cooler? I know you do on other applications.

I really wish I can afford one. I'd like to see some 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

Sounds like I need to consider this brand. Research is zero right now. I want about 300 HP, but what does this do to your MPG being a Supercharger and not a Turbo?

I can't wait to find out if this thing does 300 whp. I'm just trying to wait patiently (pay taxes...), but I'm 99% sure I'm purchasing vortech based on their customer support/wonderful power & linear delivery this kit has. I have faith we'll be seeing higher numbers soon, I'm hoping with e85 this thing could surpass 300 whp.

Will definitely take some mods though. Probably fuel injectors at that point, and possibly a boost limiter (I forget what those are called).

This is all just speculation, though. The 255 whp from Gem's car is really great. I also think 50 whp added to that should be doable, but I have no experience with forced induction really so idk.

VORTECH SUPERCHARGER ---V3 H67B COMPRESSOR WITH 3.48" DRIVE PULLEY @9PSI --- 294 Crank hp / 210 tq
here is my review regarding the new upgrade:
First off, this is what i was looking for in the frs. this car is well balanced but always wanted a little more power (a lot of people can relate to this here lol).
living in Cali, i wanted to have my upgrades street legal. So I came across Vortech superchargers. Their superchargers are carb approved (wiating on stamping) and the power gains were linear on the power band.
I personally wanted a supercharger over turbo charging since i also wanted to keep the balanced characteristic with no significant lag which happens on turbo cars. i wanted consistant power and supercharging really sealed the deal.
You can tell once you open the hood that the quality is great and it has that oem look.
The first day that i got the car back and drove it home from Vortech i was suprised by how much of a difference it made. below 3k rpm you already feel an increase in power over stock but once you pass 3k... youre in for a suprise. the power keeps climbing as you go over the rpms. i wasnt used to this yet and the back of my head actually pushed against the headrest. (something that i never felt driving the frs till that day).
as i let go of the gas around 6.5k RPM, i heard the CBV (compressor bypass valve) making that famous "WHOOOSH" sound. My friend and I looked at eachother with a smile. i really like that the power is always there throught the power band. This was what this car needed in my opinion.
Im really satisfied with what vortech has done for us fr-s owners. I hope everyone gets a chance to feel the difference. I take my fr-s to shows and events in SOCAL such as Autocon, Formula D car show, toyotafest and much more so when you see it ill be right next to it so ask questions anytime

Hey, look into deans connectors for the dc car. There is less of a voltage drop across the connector. They are solder on, but they're totally worth it.

Ok from what little I just read, a supercharger seems better than turbo from a throttle response and engineering standpoint. As long as the MPG is not that much worse I think I want a supercharger.

They aren't too affected, I've asked a couple of the members who have it installed, and it looks like it isn't too badly affected. One of the members I asked, Had his at about 27mpg. (I think it was Pete, but I'm not 100% sure, memory is fuzzy)

So that leaves two options, as there are two super charger techniques. I'm still reading up. But it seems to me that turbo is complicated, and only better if you need max boost and Max efficiency. I like faster throttle response and simplistic longevity better.

You mentioned you drove it home from Vortech but I may not live near them in NJ so what do I do? There is this really cool speed shop called underground performance nearby, Perhaps they can do it with the vortex parts. Or is this something I can do myself?

Not to worry! The system is extremely easy to install yourself, but if you want a shop to do the install, we have Dealers and installers all over the world. Check the Dealer locator on our website to find the nearest one to your location.
