Masking doesn't always mean using actual tape. In many manufacturing environments a hard piece of something like copper or some other durable material is clamped over the area to be "masked" while the rest of the part is sprayed. Kinda like stenciling. Once the other part is sprayed...the mask is removed and voila! two colors on the same molded piece.

Map of States that require front plates

Burgundy colored states require front license plates....looks like quite a few.

Will something like this actually exist? I don't really have experience with these sort of mods: Is paint matching going to be difficult? I mean, if you look closely, will you see that the bumper doesn't quite match???

I want to do this mod! But going to need some better pics on how to hide the beam. I'll be searching Internet to see what I can come up with. Stache needs to go!

Cut em out entirely. Forman Performance did this mod on their project car awhile back. There's other pics of it floating around but usually they're too dark to tell the mustache was removed.

I think if you remove the styrofoam like alot of people are doing when installing the turbo kits and paint the front black and do a black or silver mesh grille it would look alright.

Awesome I'm so doing this now! Great find all we need is a brave soul and a DIY. If I succeed with this project, I won't mind posting pics !

I've seen another member (Jeff) wrap his stache and it turned out pretty nice (at least for my taste!).
He said he used a glossy black vinyl wrap and that the texture on the plastic itself gave the CF looking finish, and since I don't have my BRZ in hand yet, can someone confirm that something like that is possible? Because it looks great! I always thought of having to use a CF wrap and always thought that it might not have the glossy finish that I'd like.

Here is the picture:

So I went to a custom body shop today to get a quote on how much they will charge to cut mustache off and sanded and painted and fabricate a metal grille and then spot welded to the bumper. I came out sad knowing it can be done but at high price.
Out the door price 1100.00 Crazy! For that I can just buy a whole Aero kit with no mustache. Just a thought. I'm torned because I hate Stache but I love the OEM body kit and don't want to upgrade to some Flairy Aero kit. What to do?????

I did plan to do the carbon fiber wrap before and post here for suggestion.

And the people told me this idea will not work, so I give up. ><

I took the BRZ front mouth and flipped it upside down. I think it looks better that way. More aggressive and less happy.

What's the point of trolling? Everyone knows that's photoshopped
