There haven't been too many English reviews so far... I don't speak Japanese but in all the videos the driver has a huge smile, that says all I need to know.

Toyota discussed at length its (and Subaru’s) decision to build a lightweight sports car that avoided AWD, turbos and high grip tyres. The end result is a stunning first step, that’s for sure. This car is a blast to drive and will without doubt inject some much-needed adrenalin to a lacklustre line-up.

That sounds pretty good to me.

For me there is only one reviewer I want to hear: Chris Harris. He really know about cars. He praised the the Cayman, the 911 GT3, the 458 Italia, the LF-A, the M3, the 1 Series M and if the GT86/BRZ is a good car, he'll also praise this one. He is very objective and is not biased to any brand. If something is not very good, he'll say it.

Best handling car in its class?, most likely, one of the best handling (non-exotic) cars on the road, not so sure.
Because these are preproduction cars.

These premiere events are "first drive" type of articles. It looks bad for a journo/publication to slam or give a definitive verdict on a car when it's not driven in production trim.

I love how the Porsche Cayman (esp Cayman R) feels/drives, so this is a really encouraging sign.

Hell I think you can buy at least 2.5 FRS/BRZ/GT86's for a Cayman...
Yes and no... A used Cayman with less than 40000 miles is only $35k in Canada and cheaper in the US.

Where did you read that? It's not in any of the press releases! Both Toyota and Subaru are claiming it's an exciting and interactive sports car, but they've never claimed "best handling" anything anywhere.

Your comment about "B.S. Prius tire" only shows how dramatically you've misinterpreted the whole point of the car; to be an involving car at low limits....like the Miata. If the car feels like a Cayman, it'll be due to the interaction between chassis, steering, and driver, not from lap times or typical statistics.

Fixed it for you. Chris Harris is the most biased, most emotional [in a bad way] addition to Evo in recent memory.
