Just curious about the trims compare to Perrin's Intake. This may make me have a split decision making on both.

just curious how hard it is to change out the filter. Is the filter foam or cotton ? Oil or dry ?

So today i was doing some simple data logging and this veloster turbo pulled up next to me and was egging me on the race. So i decided to record the log and got a little 2nd gear pull from 2000 to 7400rpm and put it in virtual dyno. Theres a little dip on the end because of the run had a slight dip at the end of the run but i got a pretty good run logged.. This is with visconti's updated map and for a 2nd gear pull i thought it was pretty good numbers wise. By the way the veloster is pretty freaking slow, was barely a challenge from about a 20mph pull but for some reason i love the look of the car. not sure if it was a manual or auto but i hear the auto veloster turbo is faster than the manual.

I'm interested in this answer to, as the Perrin one looks to be abit of a pita to deal with taking the bumper off etc. Not sure there is an easier way however with this general design?

Well all cai designs would require taking off the bumper to install. Correct me if I'm wrong. If you want to be lazy. Get is a ram intake or drop in air filter

LOL fair enough, guess my comment sounded lazy, just was thinking if there was some sort of a break down connector where the front snorkel/filter could be motivated out from backside was all.

Well you can pop open the hood and pull the bumper back just a little to get to the filter but im not sure if it will be that simple...when i get a chance ill check it out and see if can be done without breaking anything or putting too much stress on the bumper

Just ordered this intake for mine this morning. Pretty excited to get it! I was going to go with Perrin's until I saw this was an all stainless design.

Have you had drop in filter previously before you had this intake to feel the difference between the two?

yes i have. I have used an hks filter and i have made a 3inch inlet tube with hks filter. I will say that the hks filter has a little more throttle response but once you hit 3000 rpm you can feel nice increase all the way to redline..and the sound is way better than a drop in

Thanks I currently have the hks drop in with Perrin inlet tube. You have given me something to consider.
