Thanks Des, yes it was a very succesful weekend for us as we tested various set-ups. Still exhausted from such a long weekend & a busy Monday back at work, but I'm putting together some data to post about, I will provide updates soon.

Congrats to all of you who were at Dixie, with the development head start the RX8s & BMWs have the early results for the Twins are very encouraging indeed!

Agreed--I was all out of sorts & drove poorly, no doubt. I wasn't even looking ahead, which I'm normally religious about.

You will get the car there soon enough George, I'd say the car performed well for having a ton of parts thrown at it in the last few weeks. Plus Tavares isn't really the best place to try to tune a suspension.

Are the MCS's singles or doubles?

That course looked challenging. There have been quite a few videos posted to youtube already and all kinds of folks got late in the sections before the sweeper/turnaround. Another place I saw people lose all kind of time was the left hand box about 3/4 through, people who nailed that were able to take it almost flat out to the finish. I know in the run you posted the car got squirrely there and it was a couple seconds before things were in control enough to line the car back up.

Darren Seltzer? posted the video I think from his shootout-winning run here:
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPau1IGeINM"]2013 Dixie Match Tour with Darren Seltzer - YouTube[/ame] .

I don't have audio but it looks like a lot of people congratulating him. I know he's in a FM with slicks but his lines are perfect.

Stephen, they're the singles. I appreciate the vote of confidence. All seems to go out the window with me if my car's setup is off. I got my head gathered on my 3rd run, then CEL horror on my 4th... Lol

Earl, Darren is a relatively new guy to the Solo scene here in central, FL. He's been carting since he was 10 and he is most certainly The Real Deal... Thankfully, he drives more like a human when he drives a passenger car lol.

You should watch Strano video from there, he is early on everything, just a little loose on throttle.

^^^

No doubt--he did an awesome job there. Was patient where he needed to be, then ON IT the rest of the time. Sam doesn't have multiple jackets for nothing!

I know for a fact my quick run, I backed off where I needed to, as to not get behind, after I had a good talking to from myself after the run I posted up above... lol

Wow that Strano is fast! No wonder he has won so many championships. Smooth, and held a fast speed almost everywhere. Very little speed change, even on corners. And yes, turning in early it looks like to me.

I should point out that learning to unwind the wheel earlier can help alot with the corner-exit oversteer, and that this type of setup is normally faster than one that is tight on corner exit.

Experts can feel free to chime in, but I think that the biggest cause of this corner exit looseness is the differential locking up very aggressively with throttle input. A tuned clutch-type diff with a more progressive lockup would probably work wonders in dialling this out. I know in my case, though, this is an avenue I'm hesitant to go down, both due to costs, and the pickiness of setting up the rear-end gears, plus the fact that I'd be adding a new wear item to the car that would need refreshing every season to work at its best.

I spoke to Sam briefly @ the Tour. I'm going w/ his suggestion of going lighter w/ rear spring rate. 375 square to 325 rear. I'm hoping that the rear ride height isn't too low either, causing it to hit the bumpstops. Once I get the springs in, see where my rear camber is (have no idea after the bushings) & maybe dial a touch more toe-in--hopefully it'll be good & stable... lol

What your CEL issue? I had autocrossed on back to back weekends earlier this month with no issues, then driving to work midweek mine came on. Drivers side exhaust cam synchro gear. The tech thinks it will keep happening.

Not sure. I need to datalog & send to tuner. I really haven't messed w/ the car since Dixie. I hope to do it by this weekend.
