I'm amazed. Rear mount turbo looks incredible. I can't wait to see the airbox

I don't have a lot of knowledge about a turbo system with a rear located turbo. But, straight away I assume that having that much intercooler piping to fill is going to affect on/off throttle response and lag, compared to a kit like the Greddy or JDL kit. Is this true?

I like that the weight of the kit is kept nice and low. Is heat going to be an issue with the location? (Could also ceramic coat I guess)

I completely agree that the exhaust design is going to be great for WOT/dyno, but would like to know more about the expectations of a kit like this on a daily driver.

Companies, when designing a turbo kit, either are able to provide very short IC piping, or very short exhaust piping. Each fabricator weighs the pros and cons of each route for each individual car. I have yet to see any true data on which way to go is better, but im sure both play a significant role.

More often than not I see people push for short IC piping though. Relieving backpressure after the turbo doesn't seem to be a problem with 3" piping, given we don't need huge turbos because these cars weigh very little.

God please let this be close to 5k, I love the piping and everything about it.

It is not a rear mounted turbo, it just sits near the ground, response all depends on turbo/tubing/thickness of piping/tune/etc... A rear mounted turbo will sit near the muffler of a car.

Yeh fair call. I was thinking rear, as in behind the motor. Lets call it mid mounted.

I may have missed it but are you running an EL or UEL header with this setup? Placement of the turbo almost looks like it could utilize almost any header (that has a flange in the stock location) with just the use of a different overpipe. That would be cool.

It is using stock. You can use any header designed to hook up to the stock overpipe.

1. The extra piping will not be noticed in terms of throttle response. Turbo size has a far greater effect on response. Do you realize how much air these little things pump out? If you have experienced a turbo motor with no intercooler piping (placing your hand over the output of the compressor while reving the engine) you would be able to imagine just how fast it can pressurize some piping (milliseconds).

2. Why would you worry about heat? It puts the hot turbo away from engine vitals and down under the chassis. Where would you worry about heat?

3. Judging from 3 data points, the fantastic torque curve, the insane boost curve, and 3rd party anecdotal evidence from a forum member (orbitz) I'd wager daily driveability is the least of your concerns...
