FR-S: $27.273.00 BRZ: $31,130 Difference = $3854 Therefore what I said is still valid. But if you are getting a crazy $2000 off, pass it on to the dude, I sure he'll appreciate the discount lol |

Exactly. I just got my renewal and it went down another $8/month. Don't see my monthly finance payments ever coming down. Again people, look at total cost of ownership.

I almost freaked out at the $31,130 until I saw "Canada" on your name.

Vinyl wrap the interior trim pieces. I am a wrap noob, but they are much easier to work with now days. A little Sunday project, and so many choices of color/finish.
I have CF wrap right now, but switching to brushed black metal look.

I checked today and with State Farm my insurance is exactly the same for both cars. I test drove an FR-S with manual yesterday and loved it. It reminds me of my NA Miata. I also find myself in a dilemma myself in terms of FR-S vs BRZ.
I'd rather have the Scion because 1) I had a 1982 Supra and it brings me back in a lot of ways 2) I like the sharp, neutral handling and hear about understeer in BRZ (though I did not drive BRZ yet, is it noticeable below the limit?) and 3) the salesman dd a great job and deserves to be rewarded. Problem is, with Scion's "Pure Pricing" a Whiteout FRS comes in around $25,500. I emailed a Subaru dealer and they offered me a BRZ Premium for $25,985. Seems to me that HID lights and Nav are well worth $485. I am more concerned about the HIDs though I hear the navigation system works better now than it did when the car first came out. I would like to give Toyota my business, but Pure Pricing may end up costing them the sale. Any comments or suggestions for me from the more experienced posters here? |

I guess it's a US State Farm thing. I'm with State Farm and the BRZ was over $30 cheaper per month.

Dude needs to find a better dealer, that BRZ markup over MSRP is absurd, here in the GTA you don't have to pay one dollar over list. So it's $26,300 FRS vs. $27,295 BRZ - just less than $1k difference. Pretty much a no-brainer given the added HID/LED, nav, upgraded seats, etc. Plus for white aficionados there is a $255 premium for white pearl on the FRS but not the BRZ - down to a $740 difference in MSRP.

forget price for a second and think about the cars. If the frs and brz are parked in front of you and you could take the keys and drive off in one....the one you drive off in is the one you should get.
Now worry about price. |
