Assuming that the near-perfect proportionate increase in torque on this manifold is bullshit, the torque gain during the infamous 'dip' is still worthwhile (albeit it about half the torque difference claimed).
I am curious if this can be achieved without a tune. If not, I am then even more curious if the tune is the primary reason for this torque increase? If double-so, i'd like to see the same tune used on a car without the manifold/header to see what the gains would be. Somehow I doubt that's going to happen though! |

You seen a Visconti or any other tune putting out that much torque? Changing acoustics and not tuning for it seems dumb IMO, but what'd you'd like to see - if I understand correctly - is a tuned car without this header that was then retuned with this header.

There are other manifolds which have clearly displayed the tune is a big reason for the improvement in torque. |

Pump gas tunes without header have not been able to eliminate the dip in any way. Most tunes have been able to reduce the width (mainly by tweaking cam timing, you can climb out of the dip sooner in the rev range). I think i have seen one tune that was able to reduce the depth but i don't recall for sure. I have multiple logs where you can see the airflow just sags during the dip, regardless of cam timing, ignition timing, fuel, etc etc with stock exhaust system. Now, if you left the stock cam timing in place and put on a long tube header you will not eliminate the dip because the stock cam timing is far from optimal once the stock header is replaced with a long tube unit. I'm willing to bet money that i can blindly create a cam timing map the when combined with the P&L or nameless header will eliminate the dip... It's very simple... full advance on the intake cam and about neutral on the exhaust cam.

In all honesty I think they could get rid of the last mini dip by stretching their system secondaries length a bit. I think that was part of the reason for the v-band adjustment, testing length variations.

Ignore that the map names say "safe" these are the cam timing maps used once up to temp based on all of my logs. Bigger numbers = more advance.

Is this still coming out? It's been in production since last year? Anyone knows?
