Not to sound like a ball buster OP but you hammer Seibon on quality, and saying the hood is faded looking, then go out of your way to fix it, then complain about it, but end up using it anyways. Im confused as to what you are trying to accomplish here.
Seibon should be more than willing to refund a product. If you paid with a credit card you can always call and request a stop payment or file a claim. Usually this ends with you having to ship the item back and a refund to your account. Sorry if i come off like a jerk but when i see people complaning about something and not doing anything about it i think to myself "if it bothered them that much to make a thread and bad mouth something it should bother them enough to do something about it". Just my .2 cents If you decide to send it back i know VIS makes a decent product and @staycrushing just recieved their new style of hood. |

I am not picky . I been wanting on a set of wheel that are on back order since January. The vendor calls me and fills me in to keep me satisfied . That's all that I ask. I have moved on and so has my money. |

Just a thought here...you spent $600 on a hood, that is Carbon Fiber and FRP, fits well, and "only" required you to buff out the clear coat, and you are complaining. Dunno how much shopping you did before buying but good luck finding any other hoods that cheap. True CF hoods from any of the more reputable manufacturers are thousands of dollars for this car, and have negligible weight savings.
I don't support Seibon's business practices, but I have some of their parts on my car because I bought them before anyone had them. The crazy thing is the parts fit, look exactly the way i wanted, and required minimal work to get them that way. On top of all that i got them cheap. I consider myself lucky that my parts were all good, but I think people here have no grasp on the reality of making CF parts at a cost that isnt prohibitive. Why do you think cars made out of the stuff cost more than houses? The process isnt easy. Does that excuse Seibon? No, but it does make sense to inspect your parts before accepting them, that should be common practice. I've turned parts away that didn't meet my expectations, this would be no different. |

Edit: Oh and as someone mentioned before, the clear coat isn't an actual clear coat. If you buy a Seibon product expect it to start fading quick. |

If it's junk then why did you install it and not return it?

Yes, the seibon carbon fiber hood is heavier than the stock hood, but if I was that worried about weight, I could lose a few pounds first. |
