We traded that in on our new BRZ, which I call a "Miata with a roof" plus extra cargo capacity. They're both wonderful cars, a true pleasure to drive. You know, Snoopy, NOW is a good time to buy a Miata from a snow belt state. In fact, our MS3 dealer just sent us another letter making us the same offer as at Christmas. They had an all-black with red accents "Club Special" Miata, I think it was. Buy that, if possible, for $1000 UNDER INVOICE (not msrp) and you'd have a good deal. Or, were you thinking used? In either case, we have a set of four winter wheels from the Miata that might interest you since you know about quality wheels. They are 12 lb. SSRs in a dark gray finish. I'd sell those to you for a good price. We can FEEL THE DIFFERENCE between these 12 lb. wheels and the OEM wheels. |

Well, I finally gave up on the Mazda3. I put a deposit down on a 2012 Ford Focus SE hatchback w/ 5 spd in Kona blue. The warranty has 3 years left so it'll be perfect until I graduate. That gives me something to tinker with until the 86 sedan or hatchback comes out.

Turtle beach gear was never good anyway. One of my friends uses their mic's on halo and you can barely hear him, his voice cuts out, or causes static in the background.

Yeah, for me it was priorities. All the xbox does is distract me from school, and I can at least get my money back on the monitor. I'm hoping to have enough for my first round of mods: a Perrin intake tube, J2 cat back exhaust, and possibly some plasti dip. The intake and exhaust are for sure happening the minute I get home from school so I'd like to have the cash set aside beforehand. If I get the job I applied for and the pay I asked for I'll have a decent income that'll be split between savings and the car. I'm thankfully not in a situation where I need the money to support myself, but I'm also trying to be relatively smart with my money. If I make 3k this summer, half of that will go toward the car and the other half into my bank account that already has a decent amount. My goal is to never drop below my initial bank amount. So in other words, no wheels, no aero until I'm making more moola.

Random thought of the night: I wonder if anyone has looked into how doing modifications affects gas mileage. Like say I install a FA20 intake and a full header back exhaust with a high flow cat. Would my gas mileage improve if my driving habits didn't change? Same goes for wheels: If I got 17x8 RPF1's and the same tires it'd make sense that the gas mileage improves because it takes less work to turn the wheels. Hmmm....if you also got a carbon drive shaft....HYPER MILING!

Oh college, so swell. Also I respect things from snow states but it doesn't fare well down here with the intense heats and constant humidity/moisture. I want to earn my things and buy them myself, but I know that that takes patience. Thanks tho!
