You try to distinguish your parts by posting over inflated hp numbers. Then in the case of the exhaust sell a lower quality item and sell it at a similar price as higher quality competitors. Seems like good reason to not like your company.

We can all thank vtmike for this glorious thread derailment as a result of his failed attempt to stroke his nameless fueled ego.

So, after much debate, I have decided to go with the Berk muffler delete . I felt the pricepoint and close proximity (SoCal=easy pickup) is what sold me. I went through Counterspace Garage as I met Mike at the Buttonwillow track event last Saturday; he's a standup guy. I don't have anything against Works and what they're bringing to the market, I just decided to spend my money elsewhere. We'll see if this baby really drones too much or not. Honestly, I'm still at a time in my life where I want to hear a LOUD exhaust while I'm blasting my music in my car driving along-just personal preference .

I will be doing a review of this delete and the unichip system (with drop-in filter map) by the end of this weekend because I'll have both installed by tomorrow . Thanks to all that gave constructive input in this thread!!!

It's quite a hike from Virginia so I'll pass.

I do like nameless. But I also like Motiv, and perrin to name a few. After looking at Berk they seem to have nice stuff for the price.

In all of my exhaust searching works is the only non stainless steel system I came across. Glad the op went with the better quality part.

I ordered the works ab-m/haven't received it yet ..but what's all this talk that works system wont hold up? Why would they make a system that would fall apart and ruin their name? Making me nervous over here lol

Don't worry, like I said before, it's all just ego stroking over aluminized vs stainless steel. Here are the FACTS about the two, since vtmike is so adamant about factual information:

Quote:
Aluminized Steel vs. Stainless Steel

Both aluminized steel andstainless steel are excellent products for automotive exhaust applications. Both offer excellent heat and corrosion resistance and both can be easily welded.

Aluminized steel is steel that has been hot-dip coated with an aluminum-silicon alloy containing between 5 and 11% silicon to promote better adherence. It offers more corrosion resistance than galvanized steel and is 20 times more heat resistant than cold-rolled steel and 5 times more heat resistant than galvanized steel.

Used widely in original equipment and aftermarket exhaust systems, aluminized steel is used by most muffler shops. It is a very long-life product and will generally outlast mufflers by years. It is very workable and accepts bends without stressing. The principal advantage of aluminized steel is its lower cost.

409 is a titanium stabilized ferritic stainless steel which means that it is a steel alloy containing chromium. It contains less nickel and more carbon than 304 stainless steel. Ferritics are best suited for high temperature applications that require corrosion resistance and high strength. The principal use of 409 stainless steel is automotive exhaust systems and most catalytic converter shells are made of 409.
So while Aluminized steel is lighter and less expensive, Stainless is better for corrosion resistance if you live in an area where the roads are heavily salted every winter given a similar Aluminized steel system isn't coated with something to protect it. For heat 'resistance' both are bad. SS can withstand more heat but alum can dissipate it much faster since it has much less mass and holds less heat.

Keep in mind the WORKS systems are all coated with corrosion resistant Aluminum Oxide coating so there's absolutely nothing to worry about even if you do live in an area with harsh winters.

TL;DR We'll be enjoying our AB-M's for many years without issue. Ignore the trolls.

That corrosion resistant coating is likely NOT as effective as you would think. Most exhaust erosion begins on the inside. Are the works pieces coated on the inside?

And bringing light to the drawbacks of the exhausts design, materials and workmanship (and the company's business practices) is completely different from 'hating'. The OP asked for everyone's input, and he got it.

Btw, I wouldn't advertise that your axle back exhaust took 4 months R&D. Considering the simplicity of the design (and that the design is identical to another company's product), you're only going to hurt your reputation by claiming that much time wasted on R&D.

Loud? You're telling this to a guy who's choice of exhaust is a 129dB monster...

The Berk is on the quiet side, IMO, but my perception may be a bit different. The sound, obviously, will change as you add other mods (e.g. headers, 2ndary cat delete, tune, etc.)

For those that say the Berk is loud... it IS called a track pipe (at least, that's what both Berk and us refer to it as) and is made strictly for functionality, not comfort

Quality and functionality first.

ive heard the WORKS and berk in rl. the berk exhaust is louder idling.. idk about accelerating but the owner said it drones at 1500... the WORKS exhaust is quieter but not by much and it has a deeper sound to it. it wont drone unless you push it.

heres a fly by video i just did with the WORKS AB M-delete. accelerating redline across the block, then a turn and close up fly by at like 40-50 mph.
