Even if I have a slight rasp in the Nameless header, I'll just print off the dyno chart and hand it to them. Should be enough reasoning.

That would make sense, wouldn't it?

Most people lack brain stems and have more money than sense. Audio fidelity of a YouTube video is usually terrible and speakers vary from computer to computer...so the sound will be very different in person.

Right now, you're talking as if you know what you're talking about, when you don't since you've never heard an EL Subaru in person. Go to a Subaru meet, check out the EL header cars if you can't wait for an 86 in your area.

Wait, I've heard other boxer engines in person, just not this boxer. I was talking solely about the 86, not any other Subaru engines. Just like how my exhausts on my 4.0 liter V8 sounded much different than my 4.3 V8. And btw, there is still the rasp on other EL headers that I've heard on WRX's.

And also, way to go insulting most people on this board.

I insulted everyone, not just this board.

If you've heard an EL Subaru in person then you should know it doesn't sound like a Honda. We weren't even talking about rasp to begin with, so let's get back to where you said it sounds like a Honda.

Whatever, I'm done. The rasp is what I was referencing when I said it sounds like the Honda. To each there own.

Jason is pretty confident in their header and their axleback's sound. Not to mention, he's still toying with mid-pipe configurations even in a 3" setup with a beefy resonator to quiet it down and tame it some.

Still lots of work to do into finalizing it all it seems. I know we all want that header to release, but its better to not rush it and getting it exactly the way they want.

My Hondas and my mates Hondas never rasped.

The only way you will get to compare the sound of another subaru with EL headers to this car, is to find a NA subaru with an EL header. You cannot compare say a wrx/sti with an EL header to this application.

Sorry but I tend to agree with the rasp comment that all the EL headers provided so far have been so.

I have yet to hear a catted EL header to see how that sounds vs the rasp.

The sound preference between UEL & EL is purely subjective; personally, I'm of the belief that UEL sounds pretty *****.

I own an '07 Subaru STi with an EL manifold and I'd never go back to UEL; I've ran both manifolds.

It was mentioned, previously in this thread, that UEL manifolds have a tendency to heat up one side of your motor, cough cylinder #4 cough, most Subaru people should know what I'm getting at..

Now, I'm sure it could be argued that the "heating" of one side of the motor, versus the other side, may be exaggerated by my EJ motor being turbo; however would you really want one side of your motor being heated more than the other, from a longevity stand point?

Whether it's a matter of preference, or safety, you can bet I'd run an EL manifold.

Here's a shot of my '07 STi:
