The difference is like day and night. I can comfortably listen to it a full volume for hours, whereas stock system gets too loud at 70% power, distortion becomes apparent and its still not enough to overcome the cabin noise at (my) freeway speeds. And it sounds so much better you don't even recognize the start of some songs because you can now hear instruments and notes that previously were being lost.

The subwoofer can also be removed easily for track duty, it uses only two bolts. The added weight is apparent during daily driving though, but not a big deal.
I can't wait to get mine and then upgrade once the reference series comes out. They seem like a really great company to work with and I love that Scion backs their products.

did you do anything else in regards to sound quality such as sound deadening the car? i was wondering if the extra bass would cause rattles...

Nope, nothing in that regard. The system is not designed to turn the car into a boombox mobile, it achieves great quality without being loud. If you are in a parking lot with your windows up, even at full power you will get little attention. Definitely no rattles or vibration in the two days I have had it.

I see a MOSSY tag on yours, did you get it in PB? That's where I got my tC RS1.0 many years ago. Talk about something hard to find....

Sounds like it's exactly what I want in a sound system for this particular car nothing too boomy but something satisfying to listen to with some added clarity.

Well if you're ever in the Kearny Mesa area, Ron Watzak at KM Scion was my service go-to guy for the tC for pretty much it's whole life. Free service for 2 years with this new one is pretty cool too.

What were your plates? Does it start with a 7 or are they still putting out 6Z... plates?

Perfect! I actually went there first to get my FRS and told the dealer I would be back with a check the following day for the one whiteout they had on the lot. He never mentioned anything about putting a downpayment on it, and when I called him the next day to get the PPO for the bank, he told me he sold it. He said if I wanted to put a down payment on it he would have the next one coming in on the 11th of this month.....so today.

I called down to mossy and they had one whiteout 6 speed on the lot with 6 miles. I bought it that day.

Plates are still 6Z....I'm interested to see what yours will be.

as far as i know it shouldn't mess up your clutch, did it on my MR2 for over 80k miles. as long as you're not grinding your gears, nothing should happen to your tranny. but if you're that worried about it, i suggest asking your dealer.
